Food is good but the inside of the place is pretty gross.
We had planned to eat inside but it smelled really bad and was kind of dirty and gross. The bathroom was disgusting. But we had already put our order in so I decided to go ahead and get the food. They had a 95 on their inspection posted so hopefully the area where they're actually cooking is passable. We decided to then take our order to go and eat in the car. If they had outdoor seating it would have been nice to sit out there as the place next door has outdoor seating but this place did not so car it was.
The food was hot and not too bad. We got general tso chicken which had zero spice which I was bummed about, tasted more like sweet and sour. I was afraid it would be too spicy but there was no spiciness at all. But at least it was tasty and the chicken wasn't chewy like some places. The fried rice with it wasn't bad. We also got pad thai but it had too much fish sauce/oyster sauce for our liking. I like when it has a bit of lime juice flavor to it which I couldn't taste in this.
Not my favorite Chinese food but also not my least favorite. I don't think I would go back unfortunately as I don't live anywhere near there. But I would say it was at least pretty tasty. I just recommend you...
Read moreThe food was hot, fresh, and delicious! This was my first time trying Joy Food and I must say that it was some of the best Chinese Takeout Food that I’ve had in the area. I was craving some Chinese Food and noticed that they had lots of good ratings, so I called in an order for pickup. When I arrived, I noticed that the restaurant was outdated. It’s basically just a whole in the wall, but don’t let that keep you from trying this gem. The people were so friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I ordered the 10 piece Crab Rangoon, a combination dinner of Sweet and Sour Chicken which came with fried rice and a egg roll, a combination dinner of General Tso’s Chicken which also came with fried rice and a egg roll, and a order of Hot and Sour Soup. Like I stated earlier, everything was great and came to a total of $28 and some change. I highly recommend trying this place out next time you’re...
Read moreFirst time visiting this restaurant. At checkout I presented my credit card. I was asked for ID. I have no problem with showing my If you ask everyone else. I sat there and a white man came in and paid for his food using a credit card. She didn’t ask him for ID. If it is a policy it stands for everyone not just certain people. I am 60 yrs old and not out here trying to use someone else’s credit card. I experience this type of racism on many more occasions and not just this establishment. I will not be back and I am sure they won’t miss my business. Don’t make policies for just certain people. I owned a business for 16 yrs. My policy on credit cards was I must see everyone’s ID not just certain people who don’t look like me. All others are good. People watch what you do. I Didn’t say anything to her. I Just made up in my mind I won’t patronize...
