Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Nicholasville

I’ll start off by saying that the ice cream was really good. I have never been to Bruster’s before and I was pleasantly surprised with how it tasted. However the employees make the experience so much worse. I took my siblings out for a treat and there were about 5 employees working. We got our order placed ok but it went all down hill after that. My younger brother is allergic to eggs, so after we ordered I asked if there were any eggs in the ice cream. One employee said that she had no idea and that “it could or could not”. My brother is pretty allergic to eggs where if he were to eat some he would need his epipen. I asked her to check the ingredients of the ice cream where she preceded to tell me that she wouldn’t because it didn’t have it on the bag. I asked if there was anyway at all if she could tell me if the salted caramel had any eggs in it and the best response she had was for me to look it up. She rolled her eyes as she said this. There was no allergy card or anything that she could offer. Very unprofessional. I then looked up if Bruster’s ice cream had any eggs in it and it did not give a definite answer. I went back again to a different employee who told me the same things, making up excuses for their laziness. However she did give me a refund for the shake my bother couldn’t risk drinking. My fiancé and I always come back to this Bruster’s location for the BEST ice cream! It is THE place to go for ice cream in Nicholasville.

Firstly, their flavours are all fresh, ever-changing and delicious! My favourite flavour of theirs by far is their Cotton Candy Explosion, which comes with popping candy. It changes colour throughout the year, but is always consistently delectable! Their M&M mixer is also quite the treat.

For Valentine’s Day, I got a waffle cone (which was pink!) with my favourite cotton candy flavour, and tried their limited edition White Raspberry Truffle ice cream on top. I wish it was available all year ‘round! My fiancé tried their Strawberry Shortcake Bowl, and was blown away by it! Delicious strawberry shortcake-flavoured ice cream, real strawberries and jam, all topped off with a mountain of whipped cream and a cherry. He will definitely be ordering that again!

The staff here are also so friendly. We saw one of the servers put the extra big mountain of whipped cream on top of the Strawberry Shortcake Bowl we ordered, and the care she put into its presentation was lovely to see!

Staff is extremely nice and welcoming. Also very helpful! The young guy working there the first time I stopped in, offered to help me carry my two large bags of ice cream out to my car, which was very appreciated. The second time I stopped in the gentleman working was all smiles and very appreciative of the business. The ice cream tastes divine! Very high quality creamy rich flavor. The way ice cream used to taste before it all changed to "light" ice cream(whatever that means). There's a wide variety of choices in flavors and I have yet to have one I've been disappointed in. Well worth the cost. It's a little pricey, but realistically, I believe the cost reflects the quality ingredients. Tastes like homemade, without all the work, mess and expense.
