full disclosure, I've been eating at first watch for at least 25 years and I still miss their old menu. I struggle a little bit to find things I like now. The menu is just a little too complicated and fussy for me, but when the food is delivered it is good quality. we initially had very good service but toward the end it declined because she was obviously trying to get us to flip the table. I don't refer to myself as a slow eater, but I also don't scarf my food down, there's definitely a balance and it's obviously not appreciated on a busy Saturday morning.
I had the turkey avocado club without cheese and a side of the seasoned potatoes and it was pretty good. The coffee is always top notch. My husband had the yogurt bowl and something else that I honestly can't remember because it was just mediocre. we are both big fans of the kale tonic.
from someone who used to eat at first watch every Saturday for years, it's just not my favorite restaurant anymore. Give me a small local business where you can have a straightforward, simple menu and a great cup of coffee over conversation and I'll pick...
Read moreWe've been here before and usually it's great, but this most recent visit was different. It wasn't busy for a Saturday morning, and yet after we were sat we waited about 5-10 minutes before a server came by to say hi. She was sweet! But forgetful, bless her heart. She forgot to put in the side of bacon we ordered. When we received our main dishes we reminded her of the bacon. She said okay, apologized, and put it in. I figured it would be out in a few minutes - I mean, it's bacon at a breakfast place! But we completely FINISHED our meal before the bacon arrived. In fact, we finished our meals, had a full conversation over them, and stacked the plates before she came by to check on us (without the bacon). We told her to just cancel it, and of course it was just then that another server was walking it up. We declined it because we were full (and finished with our meal). Hugely disappointed in the service this time around. Will probably avoid this location in the near future. It's worth an extra 10 minute drive down the street to the First...
Read moreI like this place. The menu is a bit on the pricy side of the ledger, so I don’t dine here on a regular schedule. When I do dive here, the food is well prepared and tasty. I always order the Tri-Athlete, which is a chicken sausage and veggie omelette. It quite good. The home fries are consistently fried to perfection. Never overcooked. I add the fruit cup to my breakfast. It’s worth it. The whole grain toasts adds flavor and texture to the meal.
I’ve never experienced an unfriendly server or cashier at this location. Always seem glad that I chose their establishment.
When busy the restaurant can get quite loud. During busy times it seems to me that the tables are packed too close together. I can easily hear the table conversation at the table next to me, and I’m hard hearing. Generally, I just turn off my hearing aids I try to dive during slower periods so that is not an issue
I do recommend this restaurant for a...
