Ordered St. Louis ribs,. dry-rubbed, for takeout. The front staff were very nice and helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. That was encouraging, because the last time i went there (about a year and a half ago), they screwed up my order so badly I never went back. But these people were very nice and on top of their jobs.
The ribs were delicious, just a terrific flavor. I haven't had better tasting ribs anywhere in the Lexington area. Problem was, they were burnt so black, about half of them were very difficult to chew, and some I couldn't chew at all. I wound up throwing about a quarter of the order away, because it was just charred. But the rest was very tasty. They must have an excellent recipe.
They also must have a cook on duty tonight with thin light-colored hair, 4-5 inches long, wavy or curly. I know this because I pulled about 15 of those hairs out of my ribs. I hope they shower regularly, because those hairs were a significant part of the meal.
I'll probably go back some time in the future, because the taste was terrific. I just won't order dry rub again. I'll probably get something like pulled pork, or something that starts off more moist. They were very nice people, and pleasant...
Read moreSo, we came in for a 2 top. Plenty of open seats but we have to wait. Okay…. Maybe it’s a server issue. Then we hear one waitress say she only has one table…. Not a server issue. They take our name. We sit. And wait. Some women comes in alone and gets seated immediately. We are still waiting. The hostess with with mostest proceeds to take long drinks at the hostess stand….. no one is bothering to clear tables or to facilitate seating us. Meanwhile, HRH is seated at the 2 top that was empty when we walked in and has her drinks and is ordering. I don’t care if she was the Queen of England- someone should have at least acknowledged us sitting there and her being sat before us. We waited another 10 minutes after she was sat and ……. Nothing. Nice job of running away a long term customer and acting like the customers don’t matter. And you want a 30% tip!!! For being an arrogant fool. 👌 and restaurants wonder why their business slacks off. When you treat the customer as an option they will Show you just how many...
Read moreThis was my first experience of southern hospitality and it definitely did not disappoint. Our waitress, Kat, was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. We never went without refills or our next serving of our meal.
Speaking of the meal... they have a fantastic selection of BBQ meats and almost any of them can be upgraded to unlimited refills for a couple of dollars! I tried the brisket, the bbq pulled pork, and the dry rub ribs. The brisket easily pulled apart and the bbq pulled pork was very well coated in sauce giving you a delicious mouthful on each bite. The ribs were my favorite item that I tried. They were tender, well flavored and generous portions. In my endless meat servings, I got the ribs twice!
My sides included the sweetened corn bread, southern homestyle green beans, and homestyle mac and cheese. These were also limitless with the food selection we chose.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for a good...
