Best burger in the world. It also happens to be a fully certified Kosher facility, by the highest levels of certification. But I digress... I have given a review on multiple occasions, but I try to update my review on this specific Diner at least twice a year. Because it's not just the best Kosher food, rather simply THE GOAT in game! The sports-based theme that surrounds you, creates a phenomenal ambiance, is very old school, and rare. There is nowhere else to go where you can also watch the local game as you eat... in addition, It's still owned and operated by one of the two brothers who had opened this restaurant so many years ago. It's a staple in the Chicagoland area, and a highlight in Skokie and Evanston neighborhood. The food is the best, the service is the best, and it's the only place that I know of, with the foot traffic that it sees, where the owner is willing to sit down and say hello no matter what.. it says a lot about the person, but of course the place as well!

This is my absolute favorite kosher restaurant in the world! (And I have been to over 115 countries) Ken is a fascinating individual with a super interesting life story. If you get a chance, ask him to share a thought with you, it may just change your life. The food is surprisingly delicious. It will tickle your taste buds, befriend your stomach, inspire your senses - and your wallet will thank you :-) The decor will take you on a visually stimulating tour of decades passed. The staff will treat you like royalty from the moment you enter. The atmosphere will make you wish you knew about this place years ago. Go in, choose a dish and watch extra marry ordinary.

Ken's Diner is a must stop when in the Chicago area. My family and I chose to stop in for lunch, and we were handled with 5 star service, as the folks there are literally as nice as it gets. We were all in awe at how cool the diner is set up. The blending of sports memorabilia and antiques from your grandparents era makes for a unique ambience. There truly is no comparison in the kosher food establishment world! Lastly, the food absolutely lived up to the hype. If I were to recommend a menu item, I would say the "Burger Buddy." Go see Ken's Diner for yourself!

I must point out that I was re-introduced to Ken's Diner & Grill within Facebook group (Vegan Chicago) where Ken's Diner shared a post stating that it will be open on the 4th of July, offering you mouthwatering Vegan hamburgers and hotdogs. I thought to myself, offering mouthwatering Vegan hamburgers and hotdogs? Mmm, now you are speaking my language. And it was then I made plans to make the drive to Skokie on the 4th of July, Independence Day.

Ken's Diner & Grill itself sits along Dempster St nearby several restaurants that I am familiar with, with one being the neighboring Monkey King Jianbing which I admit I have visited a handful of times for jianbing, tehehe. Even though the parking lot is shared with other businesses, there are a decent number of parking spots available with some in parallel parking design directly outside the storefront.

I was acknowledged shortly after I walked in and up to the counter to look at the menu. After confirming their plant-based items, I ended up ordering the jumbo vegan hot dog, french fries, and a canned soda which was completed within a reasonable timeframe.

Service: 5 (Great)

I opted out of dine-in and chose to take my order to go. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere of Ken's Diner & Grill, I just had other errands I needed to complete, even with-it being a holiday. Moreover, the restaurant appeared clean, and the atmosphere gave off a sporty, yet classy diner vibe. There are a number of tables and seats available inside of the dining area. And I must say that I adored the vintage photos plastered along the booths, and vintage decorations in the dining area which took me by surprise.

Atmosphere: 5 (Great)

Garnished with everything but hot peppers, I enjoyed the satisfying taste of the jumbo vegan hot dog once I had gotten settled in for the evening. It was most definitely mouthwatering as advertised in the Facebook post shared by Ken's Diner. And the fries were far from a disappointment.

Food: 5 (Great)

Being that I had a good experience, I would gladly re-visit Ken's Diner & Grill again whenever in the Skokie area. Or maybe I will just make the drive for either one of their mouthwatering vegan hamburgers or hotdogs, tehehe.

Service: 5 | Atmosphere: 5 | Food: 5

Recommendations: cabbage soup, impossible mushroom avocado burger, veggie burger, impossible burger, grilled cheese, quesadilla with veggie meat, steak fries, curly fries, vegan hot dog, or vegan chili dog.

I got caught in the rainstorm and had a flat on my bike. They were so kind to me and cared for my bike and let me hold it in the front. I ordered 3 tacos to go. They never made it home. AFTER EATING ONE, I had more to want from there only, I am there one time and it was the best experience I've ever had and will love to visit again and dine in. Everyone was courteous and caring. The cashier there was also very polite (and a knockout), the chef who made my tacos is very clean and professional. 10 stars. :)

--edited.

Hopefully you took it as a compliment.. I gave everyone a review and the add note is to acknowledge that your pros and some elements of your restaurant are complimentary but not only the cashier, everyone who was friendly and so that is what leads to a KO when you have the top person on the pyramid who is the most influential and everyone has the same persona so, just trying to give a better outlook on what people are thinking.

I forgot to mention that Ken's place later on is recommended by my health professional and she who now lives in California has avoided cancer by eating there! For all of you folks who are vegan or in need of a new Diet, or want to eliminate your body of who knows what that causes unwanted health issues__ give this place a visit. My body felt energized after eating here and not run down. I am so amazed by how my health specialist knew about my random visit and you know the food is priced at a middle range for me but the portions were great. I didn't feel shorted. OK last edit, I promise, I felt the need to really add the most detailed information about my experience because normally when I eat out, the next day I feel tired or run down but folks, I woke up with energy. Bless you guys for your excellent service. I hope to be in that area after college as I was just passing by. I have been to other Kosner eating places but here I got my...

The food is very good and the management is great. The problem was the staff. I have been there many times with no problems and have always enjoyed myself. Sadly last time I was there the staff were extremely disrespectful and rude. The management was fine though. They still have great food but the good vibe wasn't there like before. It is very upsetting to me that I had this experience because everything was amazing in the past. I'll give it another try and see what happens and if things are better I will change my review to a much better one. Too be specific to who was nasty and who wasn't ill give a description of the rude ones. The main problem was a guy of Hispanic descent with a pony tail with black hair, a small black beard. And a little fat and a bit short. He looks like he was in his early 30s and he wore a black sweater and a cap. Another very rude staff member was a short skinny woman also in her early 30s with a pony tail glasses, brown hair with slightly green die. And her skin is on the darker side. I would like to mention that Ken the owner and founder is a great guy and have never had a problem with him. Hopefully they hire better staff or at least trained them better by the next time I'm there. Thank you. And no Owner, I'm not the guy who you think I am. And if staff are going to be disrespectful I'm sorry but I won't...
