Dangerous Restaurant with Poor Service and incompetent management !
Despite sending the a reservation yesterday,,,, restaurant sent my family of eight to their outdoor patio. This was supposed to be a family dinner that we celebrated two birthdays. Instead, the meal was an epic fail of a waiter in over his head and ended with over 50 mosquito bites. Bugs were in the dishes they serve.

Waiter did not write anything down and would mess up the order as he spoke it back to us. Waiter was the worst seller of drinks trying to up - sale and did not care that we weren't big drinkers and we drove here.
Plates, silverware and napkins came were placed in the middle of the table. No table setting and we had to pass along everything.
Waiter was sarcastic and rude to my children
Food and drinks came in at various times with many errors like not sending us the right pizza and dinner was served in stages for forty minutes. Appetizer salad was served without serving utensils and came in twenty minutes later despite various attempts to communicate with their wait staff.
Dangerous conditions.
The restaurant is built between the forest preserves. The patio did not have any thing to prevent mosquitos and my family was severely bitten. There was no net, citronella or anything that would prevent the mosquitos. To make the situation worse, they have various patio lights that attracted the bugs. I asked the manager and he said "We can't prevent them and nothing we can do". Bugs were all over our food and I personally got over 20 bites with blood. I left the table because my bites were so bad.
I went into the lobby to scratch my bites and no one of the staff expressed a single degree of concern.
When I spoke to the manager he said "you eat here at your own risk" and we serve hundreds a day and your the only one with issues. They claim to have a system but "don't care about our guests comfort". The manager expressed no empathy or understanding how much pain I was in. I asked him if he cared about his guest's health and he kicked me out. I will never go there again and hope that the health department closes them down.

When we first got there we were told 15 min wait. We got seated and for 20 min no-one came to our table to even bring us water. The young lady at the front who had seated us came by and asked if anyone had taken our order, and I replied no. She advised us that our waitress was with a big party at the moment so she asked if we wanted anything to drink. She brought me a Coke and we never got the Corona we ordered. A 2nd young lady came around and asked us if we had been helped and I told her no just our drinks. So she took our order. We ordered grilled calamari, a Jacks bbq burger, and the Trio Steak medallions with warm parmesan crust with a side of mashed potatoes and veggies. It looked so chaotic, they were definitely understaffed. You had the managers, chefs and busboys running food out. I felt like I was on the show "Kitchen Nightmare." My calamari comes out with some vinaigrette sauce poured on top of it (which they have NEVER put on before) I sent it back. My food came out right after I sent the calamari back. ALL of my food was COLD!!!! ALL OF IT. I asked for my steak medallions to be medium well and they were cooked well done. (SUPER DRY) and my mashed potatoes came with gravy on top (which they never put on before) so needless to say my steak medallions were $30 and it was TERRIBLE. At that point I didn't even complain because I just wanted to pay and RUN out of there!!! My bill was $70 plus the $20 gas I spent to get to and from the restaurant. The food was terrible. Read moreVery disappointed. Firstly, I understand we are still dealing with Covid and that it is difficult to find help. However, when we arrived there were more servers than patrons.
I ordered The Chimichurri Steak that came with a small salad with balsamic dressing and Bleu cheese, tomatoes and avocado. I requested medium for the steak.
When the meal came the steak was rare, with wannabe chimichurri sauce and cold with no Bleu cheese on the salad and no steak knife (honest mistake) along with no napkins of which we needed to request.
Server was nowhere to be found and when I was looking around no one bothered to ask if I needed something.
I waited about 5 minutes and then took my plate inside and spoke to the hostess as the server was nowhere to be found. I explained the situation and she took the plate. Server comes out with no clue as to what happened like she could have noticed there was no food in front of me.
The meal was brought out, cooked correctly and the chimichurri sauce was made properly as well as the other sides. It was tasty and warmer. And yes I understand the food will cool down on its way from the kitchen to the patio although if hot enough to begin with would not be an issue.
This is not the first time that I have experienced poor service and mediocre food for the cost at Moretti's. The owners didn't respond last time at another location with the service and nor did the server bother to apologize here either. I still tipped 20% as the server evidently was not trained and not her fault about the food prep.
I know people rave about this place but once they started to expand their locations the quality and service deceased.
