I must say, I was cautious to try since I've never had Kefta meat before but thought to give it a try. Simple small eating facility, took my time to look though the menu and chose the Lunch Special with an extra order of bread, two orders of garlic sauce and their fresh lemonade. Close to being completed, the gentleman handed me the lemonade. Could see and taste the lemons they just squeezed to make it. Then the food came out and left. On my drive back, the smell was so good I pulled over to check it out! Not only was it so much food for just a small lunch but so deliciously looking I had to have it! I am definitely a fan of kefta now, at least how they make it! Something that truly impressed me was the garlic sauce! Other places I've had garlic sauce, badly taste garlic, clearly use garlic powder... you can clearly see the garlic chopped in it! Tastes exactly like fresh garlic! I wish I would've gotten more for the bread cause I poured them over the food

We came for their famous 'Masgoof' fish, which I loved and found it to be a breath of fresh air compared to any other fish you'll have in the city. It has a simple BBQ taste, was succulent, endulging and easy to eat. It wasn't as juicy and fatty as the real Masgoof I've had in Baghdad, but they're doing their best with the fish they have here and it's way better than the Masgoof I've had in Canada. But the thing is, I actually found their Kofta to basically steal the show. Easily the best we've had in the city. The charcoal-flavor was spot on, and the meat was just so tender and perfectly seasoned. The shawarma too was very very tasty albeit slightly dry. The Kebab was not as tender as Kabobi's tbh. The rice was perfect. Overall, we love it and wish we lived a lot closer so we'd be able to come without the hour commute.

Very authentic Mediterranean food with an Iraqi influence. I went with my friend from Iraq and he knew exactly what to order. (We ordered a lot so he could show me the menu) The ground beef kabobs were perfectly prepared and delicious. The beef shawarma was nicely charred and very good. I'm not a big fan of Baba Ghannoush but this one was very good. The hummus was fantastic too. I've had better falafel though. I would not have typically ordered okra soup but I'm pleased my friend ordered it. It was amazing. I'd pass on the white bean soup though. The server was from Iraq and the place is small but if you want authentic cuisine, this is your place!

This place was recommended by my uncle who had eaten there previously. Four of us visited this place at 3:00pm. No one in there but us. We ordered Falafel and Hummus for appetizers. Until today none of us 4 can figure out what the Falafel was made of. It definitely was not what the menu says is in the Falafel. The presentation was great but the taste (terrible!). The Hummus was definitely store bought and not authentic (why?)!

We all ordered the "4 Way Combo". We all agreed that the chicken was ok but the rest not so much. The beef kufta was ok but not much spices and same with the beef kafta. I mean this is Middle Eastern food and the spices what gives the food the great flavors!

The Shawarma was a bit tough. Also, I expect dinner to be served hot. The Shwarma and the beef Kafta were on the cold side. I mean there were only 4 of us the entire time and no one else. The food should be hot(not talking about being spicy).

Fix your menus. I am older and require Readers and at first I thought my glasses were so dirty that I couldn't read the menu. But all 4 of us mentioned how blurry the print was.

I make trip to Chicago about 8 times a year and have a few Middle Eastern restaurants that I visit. This place will not be one of the places that I will...

"Well, I hope you can find something to eat" 🤬 Word for word what I was told when the server misheard my order & the menu had a typo. I'm vegan & live nearby, so I was excited to try this spot. The menu clearly says "kibbeh... Your choice of finely ground seasoned meat and onions or vegetables." When ordering, I said "kibbeh, veggie please." The server didn't raise any objections. I got home, bit into it & it had meat. I called & the girl said it was a typo. During the 15 minute wait for my food, I had a nice chat with her (we both speak the same language) & now she wouldn't even offer me a refund, credit or exchange. I didn't ask for it, because anyone with an ounce of sympathy or business sense would offer a solution that would make both parties happy. I just paid for something I can't eat & the best she could do was, "I hope you can find something else to eat." Guess I'll keep my business at...
