London calling cares for teachers!
I have to give Neil and Mike at London Calling (Food Truck) some SERIOUS props. Back story: I teacher kindergarten. Our first day of school is tomorrow. I was so happy to find out that the pasty truck would be in my town tonight so I could get my favorite (Bangers and Mash) for dinner and for my first day of school lunch! I have been waiting ALL WEEK to get my delicious pasties. I was stoked!
But, like most teachers, I got stuck at school- There is SO MUCH to get ready for the first day! At 6:45 I realized I was going to miss the pasty truck. In a panic I called the number I get reminder texts from, hoping it was a real person and not an automated number. Neil answers and patiently listens to me panic-explain my situation and asking if the truck could wait just 5 more minutes. He told me I could head over, they’d wait for me, and he’d call Mike in the truck to let him know I was coming.
Mike waited and had my food ready to go! He even offered me the last steak and cheddar (monthly special ending this week!) and a cheesy chicken and bacon for a discount since I was his last customer. I thanked him over and over multiple times. He gave me a fist bump and told me to have a great school year.
I am so grateful to Neil and Mike for what they did. It made my night! These guys really care about their customers! I’ve always tried to buy from their pasty truck when it’s near my town. Now, they’ve got a loyal...

Food trucks were lined everywhere but all were closed and no longer serving any food. However, down the way I saw a light…The light of the kitchen in this particular food truck was bright and clear, and there he was. The man in the truck like an angel standing in the clouds above. As I ran in the dark as if to the light at the end of the tunnel, to see if he had any food left, he smiled and said “I got you mate”. I had never been to this vendor before so like shooting arrows in the dark, I bought whatever he had. I knew something had to work to fill our belly’s. And I mean it when I say….HANDS DOWN the Bacon cheeseburger and Chicken Tikka Masala pasties were amazing. They hit my taste buds like a cicada in the windshield of a big rig through the hills of northeast Arkansas. The flavor was new, it was full and it was delicious. Then there was the banana pudding. And let me tell you when I say I don't like that type of dessert, London Calling has thoroughly changed my perception like the spirit of god converting an agnostic to Christianity. It was like a physical change and I was hooked.
I fully recommend London Calling and like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator,...
Read moreI've seen London Calling at the farmer's market, at their food truck location on Glenstone Ave, and in the mall, but I never stopped to try their food... and boy, did I wish I would have tried their food earlier!
I met Neil, one of the owners, today, and he was VERY pleasant and personable! He is VERY passionate about his business, and I loved hearing how much the eatery continues to grow!
He told me about how the chicken tikka masala pasty is his most favorite, so I decided to give it a try.... WOW! The pasty dough was light and flaky, the filling was FULL of flavor, and the chicken melted in my mouth. Could you ask for much more? It was a tasty pasty! (Sorry, I couldn't resist).
I also had some Fentiman's Curiosity Cola (Curiosity Cola is a botanically brewed carbonated cola soft drink, a product of British brewery Fentimans according to Wikipedia), and it was quite tasty!
Neil told me about some of the other pasty options, and I think I'll try the cheese and onion one next time!
