My wife and I drove to McDonald's to get a sweet treat in a small celebration of a milestone in the writing of her Master's study. We arrived to a fairly small line in the drive through but the employees made the line go fairly smoothly.
The employee who handed off the food to us at the second window did not attempt to greet us or even briefly smile in our direction. The only time she spoke to us is when she handed the bag to us with an unenthusiastic, "There you go." Sadly, this is not an uncommon occurrence for us. On multiple occasions at this location, we are not greeted by friendly staff and on one particular occasion given almost disrespectful comments. On more than one occasions, we have received incorrect orders. The order we got tonight, I asked for a Diet Dr. Pepper but received a regular Coke. A previous incorrect orders was a breakfast sandwich missing the egg entirely. We used to occasionally get iced coffee's during "Happy Hour" but we would always end up with our order incorrect. While our request on iced coffee is a bit more complicated than usual (we just ask for half the amounts of creamer and syrup) they were consistently wrong to the point that we do not bother getting them there anymore.
I would not complain about this unless I thought it was a severe and reoccurring problem. In fact, all of the above I have sent to McDonald's themselves in an effort to fix anything. This store has gotten to the point that we hardly bother going unless the craving for a late night cheap burger (or Apple Pie) is too much...
Read moreJust to be clear: I like McDonald's. I know the food is bad for you. There are only a few menu items I can actually eat. I'm not complaining about the chain itself. All that aside, the Nixa, MO location is the worst one I've ever been to. The employees are abrupt and seem harassed & understaffed, as the drive-thru is always very backed up, and it's not uncommon to receive the order for the car behind me instead. The last 3x I've been there, they added 50¢ upcharges for 2 packets of ketchup and 4 packets of Nutrasweet. (Now I stop at a gas station if I want hot coffee.) This is a small town—there's no reason why fries should be stone cold, slimy, and hard in the 4 minute drive from their lot to my home, but this summer, they have been. And the biggest peeve ever: I've ordered an iced mocha 3x in the last month, and each time, they've added caramel (or that nasty "genuine caramel-like" drizzle) instead. The first time, I thought it was a mistake and simply threw it away. 2nd time, I politely requested "Please do NOT add that caramel stuff," but didn't complain because I figured they'd simply misunderstood me...and again, had to throw it away. Today, I know they understood, because the receipt says "iced mocha, No Caramel," but I got what I can only assume is a spite order with caramel and probably a loogie thrown in. Do yourself a favor and skip this location–if you're truly jonesing for a Big Mac, the Ozark location is only 10 minutes up the same...
Read moreMe and my bf normally sit across the street for door dashing. Yesterday we got water here, through the drive through and they gave us 2 small waters, no problem. Today, we go through the drive through to grab some water before heading to our dasher, and they ask us if we’re using our mobile app and such. We said no and someone came to the intercom, said “what can I get for you?” we asked for 2 waters. We wait a minute and get nothing. Then the same person comes back and says “I can get your order whenever you’re ready.” I’m fed up because it’s hot and I just want my water so my bf drives around and stops at the window. We wait another minute before someone asks us what we need. We tell them we asked for 2 orders and they tell us they don’t give out WATER through the drive through because they don’t want it to bug their time system. There was not a single other person in line. He said he would give it to us but we’d have to go inside to get water. Like Oh im sorry I don’t want to turn off my car, walk inside, wait 5 minutes for someone to come to the counter and give me a water cup. Fill up my own water because why wouldn’t they? Then have to turn my car back...
