I am absolutely heartbroken after my last visit a week ago. After 30+ years, you have sadly lost my business. For many years, I have enjoyed this quaint little restaurant when in town and would often make a special trip; even after working there in the 90's during high school and some college which says a lot. I would say on average, we visit 3-5 times per year. Sadly, every dish was terrible and of horrible quality. The fettuccine was of a miserly portion. The ravioli tasted like a low-end frozen kind from the grocery store. The chicken parm was firm and rubbery; did not taste freshly prepared or even like chicken; seemed to be a low end freezer something or other as well. I always get the pizza which has been a long time favorite; that sauce!!! 😋 The first one that came was covered in green peppers, which we asked to be without. When the 2nd pizza arrived (after everyone else was finished with their partially eaten/discarded meals) there was hardly any sauce or toppings. For the first time EVER, the pizza sadly disappointed.
The topper was the terrible, laughable and non-existent service from our waiter. Even the kids were in absolute disbelief and bewilderment as to how every time we reminded him about a refill or something, he acted as if it was it was the first time mentioning it, even after 2-3 reminders for the same thing. After asking him each time, we kept watching him mindlessly walk around the restaurant. There were only a few tables occupied and he was not the only server working. I will say the manager was very friendly and did come to the table to apologize about the pizza, but seemed oblivious to the bowls of uneaten food and the fact that the pizza came WELL after everyone else was finished. I would typically say something if a dish was not to standard or provide constructive feedback, but it was VERY apparent someone in charge has taken this gem so far down the rabbit hole to the point of no return that it would be...
Read moreWhile the food was good the initial interaction with the hostess is the reason I am giving this review 3 stars. Customer service is very important. The young lady that "greeted" us was not very friendly. When we entered the restaurant I made her aware we had a reservation for 3. Her response was " are all of you here"? to which I replied yes as there were three people standing in front of her. We were taken to a table and she proceeded to walk away. I asked if we could possibly sit at the booth vs a table as I have a bad back and the table had hard chairs, her response was " that booth i reserved " but I have a half booth half table in the back in that corner. She walked to the area we were to be sitting , sat the place settings down and walked off. My initial reaction was to leave but decided to stay because our previous experience in February was awesome and it was Mother's Day and I was determined not to let her get to me. Our server Madison arrived shortly and I made her aware that the hostess was not very professional ot friendly. Madison apologized and advised she would speak to management about it. The manager who actually was our server in February who was AWESOME came by to ensure our drink order had been taken. Didn't quite address the hostess issue but at least she came by to check on us. Again the food was great although the dish I really wanted wasn't available my 2nd selection was just as good. I understand it was Mother's Day and it started to get a little busy in Madison's section so some of the attentiveness was lost but she did her best. We drove 45 minutes to eat here based off the previous experience we had. Not 100%, sure I would make that drive again especially if I had to encounter the...
Read moreWe have been coming here for years!! We remember the old TV and the paper on the tables my daughter's would color on (they are 19 & 21 now).
My 19 year old chose to come here to celebrate her birthday dinner. We had reservations at 7:30 but arrived around 6:45 in case we could just wait for a table.
When we arrived, the hostess did not even greet me. She asked me if we had reservations. As I was beginning to explain that we had our reservations but we're coming early she immediately started shaking her head no and her hair was flinging back and forth. I wasn't shocked because while this is not an upscale restaurant I have never been greeted by a hostess like this and we dine out a lot!!!
Once we sat at our table my daughter told me that that was the same girl a few weeks earlier when she and her boyfriend came to dine told them that they didn't have a table for them. It was early and when they asked to place their name on the way list, the girl acted like she didn't want to. It was almost like she didn't want them to be there. My daughter couldn't believe it.
We have always had great service here we love the food there and this was a huge disappointment. I really hope someone does something to replace the person who was the hostess last night. It is not indicative of the experience we normally have their. All the servers and people in the kitchen we've been interacted with over the years are always really great people. If I own this restaurant this is not who I would want greeting my guests.
We didn't let it ruin our night. They sat us about 5 minutes later and we all...
