Borjo Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Norfolk

I haven't been here in over a year, and the last time I was here was for a job interview that I didn't get (sad I know, but that's life). I didn't really get to try much of the menu back then and I haven't had the opportunity to come back since.

First, I'm glad I came after 5pm this time because I was able to find parking right in front of the shop (luckily because it got full by the time I left) so there's the /little/ window of opportunity for you to find front row parking.

Second, their Mocha Java milkshake is SO THICK and yet SO GOOD that you really shouldn't drink it on a full stomach. Don't do that or you'll feel full really fast. It's so good and I'll definitely have to try their other milkshakes and iced drinks on the menu.

Third, the baristas are so sweet and helpful and fun to talk with. They know how to do their jobs, and are so professional and make you feel like you want to come back. I appreciate that and that's one of the main factors in me frequenting a business. So major kudos for that. The space is big enough that you can accommodate a group meeting like there was today, and yet still cozy enough that you don't feel like you're being drowned out in the din of noise.

I like that they are open until 7pm, and not that far from my work, so the next time I want to get some work done in between commuting home, I'll definitely make my way down there for some work and drinks. I have picked up Grubhub orders there a few times. I always stand where it says pick up deliveries but every single time no ever acknowledges the drivers they just ignore you standing there. So today I waited 3 minutes for the young man to acknowledge me ( mind you I can see the order already ready & he knows I'm here) Finally I go to the restroom, come back out & there is now a line of 2 guests so I'm waiting more time. I need this business to know that Grubhub customers orders are paid for while drivers are waiting for staff to finish helping walk in customers. It wasn't even busy, just no acknowledgement at all. So I ask to speak to the manager to address my concerns & Monica made up so many excuses its pathetic. Can we do better with organization in 2024? We work for the same person=...

I got the Turkish Latte and it was really really good! I find a lot of coffee shops today use certain flavors that have a very chemical taste. So I'm hesitant usually to ask for a shot of Caramel or anything. I went with my gut and this place had very good flavors. The latte itself was wonderful! I also got an everything bagel with Salmon. The salmon was a very healthy portion and tasted wonderful.

I plan on returning here before my work trip is over here and hope to return next time...
