My friend and I are in town on business and we decided to try this place because it was close to the hotel and we were in the mood for some drinks. I asked about the price of a few of the bourbons. The Jim Bean was $3 a shot, but the Knob Creek was $8, so I figured I'd go with an old trustworthy double Jameson (that I assume would be somewhere in between). My friend ordered a vodka/cranberry (very weak) and the pulled pork sandwhich.
About 5 minutes after we got our drinks and food, my friend was hit in the leg by an ice cube. One of the bartenders then comes up to us and asks her if she wants to try out a new shooter because apparently between 6-9 they test out new drinks. We're not into it, but she won't stop asking. She then apologizes for THROWING AN ICE CUBE AT US because she thought that we were her friends....
Our waitress comes up to apologize after that bartender finally leaves us, and the waitress says our bill will be comped. We said thank you. Another bartender comes up and apologizes as well.
My friend ordered a double (because of the weakness of the single) vodka/cran, assuming that everything post "comp" discussion we'd have to pay for, so we were prepared for that. When the bill came, not only were we shocked to see that we were charged for everything - minus the pulled pork - but the double Jameson was $16?!?!?!?!? For $7 more I could buy an entire bottle and not be in such a loud and literally assaulting atmosphere. We didn't protest because at that point we just wanted to leave...though not before the ice cube pitcher tried to give us some kind of watermelon shooter...again...we were very clearly not interested the first time...
Needless to say, we are in town for another week and we will not be returning no matter how...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would, very disappointed. On November 1st, my boyfriend and I wanted to check out wing night and had planned on coming here all day. We checked out the wing flavors online and planned on getting Honey Hickory and Garlic Parmesan wings. We walked in and were immediately greeted by our waitress, who then informed us that both Honey Hickory and Garlic Parmesan wings were unavailable (leaving only 8 other flavors) which was fine for us but we needed more time to decide since our original choices weren't available. She came back 3 more times within the next 2 minutes to ask if we were ready and we were clearly not because we were still nose-deep in the menu discussing what to get instead. After a few minutes we decided what we would get, put our menu on the end of the table, and waited for her to come back. There were only three other people in the restaurant and they were drinking at the bar. Our table was right next to the bar, and where our waitress was leaning, I could've taken four steps to reach her. After about 7 or 8 minutes of watching her sit on her phone, texting, and talking to the bartender we decided to walk out. We left just after she proceeded to casually make a phone call on her cell phone. We had been waiting almost 10 minutes for her to come back (which would've only taken four steps). We have never left a restaurant like that. We stood up at the table for almost a minute to give her a chance to come over to us but she just watched us. We took our business to another wing night and will never come back to Mojo Bones. Absolutely disappointing service they...
Read moreI was very disappointed. I had eaten at the Ocean View Mojo Bones several times so I had that experience as a benchmark for this trip.
I brought my wife and another couple to eat here prior to a concert on a Sunday. We wanted Bloody Mary's....they didn't have Bloody Mary mix. We wanted BBQ ribs....they didn't have any ribs. My wife decided she wanted a Mojito....the waitress said we can't make that, "this is a college bar and we don't make those fancy drinks". Really.......
We started with garlic parmesan wings. They mixed garlic parm with the hot sauce. It was okay but unlike any other garlic parmesan wings I've ever had.
For the entree we all had pulled pork. The only good thing I can say is that it was moist. No flavor...no smoke....very plans with a slight vinegar taste.
I don't get downtown too often but I do try every place twice if the first visit sucked. Every restaurant has a bad day now and then but this goes beyond that. Bad planning and ordering system.......pit master that day needs to go back to the basics (heat control,...
