My staff and I (all nurses and healthcare workers on a busy COVID unit) wanted to treat ourselves to a nice lunch, so we placed a to-go order, and I drove (through a toll both to and from) to pick up a group order from Del Vecchios. Once I made it back to work, we quickly realized that an order had been left out of our bag. I called the restaurant and informed them of the missing food, which they promptly found left behind their counter. Of course, we are all human and I know that accidents happen, so I told them I would drive back to get the order and asked them to please remake it since, at this point, it had been sitting out for over an hour. The cashier told me the manager advised him they would NOT remake this food, despite their oversight in leaving it out of our bag. We spent over $100 on our lunches. We did not request a refund, or any special incentive. We simply requested that the meal we had already paid for, that the restaurant forgot to give us, be made fresh for one of my staff members to enjoy his lunch. And the request was denied. I insisted it be remade (fresh food should be an expectation from any restaurant) and waited on hold for almost 10 minutes to speak to the manager who refused to come to the phone and talk to me. Finally, the poor cashier answered the phone and told me they would remake it while I could hear the manager yelling in the background about having to do so and how he shouldn’t have to. Bear in mind, driving back to the restaurant for second time meant I drove through a toll 4x for probably more money than what the meal cost them to make- a meal we paid full price for. When I got to the restaurant to pick up the order, the manager did not show his face to apologize or speak to me- he refused to address me at all at any point. This restaurant has gotten hundreds and hundreds of dollars from me over the years, and likely thousands through my referral to coworkers and friends, and now I will be sharing this experience with them all and I will never return. I cannot believe the lack of regard for our time, money, and inconvenience. Our staff does not get much of a break in the midst of this pandemic, and we were all looking forward to a nice lunch, and this experience put such a bad taste in our mouths. By the time I got back with my coworker’s food, of course my lunch was cold and unenjoyable. No consideration for his customers, nonexistent customer service, and rude to his employees who were kind and professional- unlike their manager. So...
Read moreI would leave no stars if I could. This restaurant gave us food that made me, my little girl, my husband so sick. We were craving items this restaurant had on the menu and we were excited to try this place. We had some calzones and wings. We also got Cannolis for dessert. Almost immediately after my husband and I were done with the wings we started having extreme pains in our stomach. My little girl was sick all day. She’s just now feeling better after eating this food last night. She’s been crying all off and on all day. We ate the food within 10min of picking it up (it was still very hot). Even my dog got sick from a small piece of pepperoni. After hearing my little girl in so much pain and sick…I had to tell my husband to stop by there and personally let the manager know. He didn’t seem to care at all. He said “well must be a virus in YOUR family”. No, that was not it. I’ve had food poisoning 1 other time and so has my husband. We were all fine and had good appetites until immediately after eating this food. Considering how the manager didn’t care at all and was extremely snobby acting…I’d definitely say to be cautious. I’d prefer the person who oversees my family’s food being stored and prepared actually CARE about the customers. I felt I should leave this review so others can be cautious. I don’t want anyone else to suffer like we have. I never leave bad/negative reviews. This is my first. So that should speak for just how saddened we are to know that this restaurant is managed like this and that I feel I have a moral responsibility to speak up and say something. I hope this helps this restaurant to CARE...
Read moreUpdated- visited 22-23 It's been a while since we have been here and my review still stands... a really nice place with good food, affordable prices and good service. Nicole was our server and she was very friendly and recommended tuneup lemon cake for dessert and we LOVED IT! We brought someone who had never been to this restaurant and their review was thumbs up as well. He had the lobster ravioli and loved it. I got to taste it and would recommend it! My eggplant was great too.
My entire family loves Del Vecchios. We typically walk in on the pizza side which always smells amazing and is always busy with people taking pizzas to go or sitting at their little tables. We tend to walk through that area to their sit-down dining room which is casual and comfortable and has a full menu. Their food never disappoints. We have ordered their pizzas, of course, eggplant Parmesan, calzones (my husband LOVES their calzones!), calamari appetizer, cheese sticks, shrimp poppers, and spaghetti with meatballs. I could probably go on and on, and each of us has enjoyed what we've gotten every time. The wait staff always seems very friendly and we typically do not have to wait very long, although I know they can get very crowded after games and ODU events. Their restrooms are always clean and easy to access. We have never had an issue parking here, either in the back or on the side. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family or anyone wanting a nice casual place for a family meal or a quick pizza to eat in or...
