Cool Flames Cafe — Restaurant in Norfolk

All you even need is ice cream, pizza and wings and this place has all three!

There’s so many flavors of homemade ice creams to choose from and flavors you’ll only find here! We had the butter chicken pizza and tried an order of 6 wings tossed in garlic parm. The pizza was soooo cheesy and packed with flavor and the wings were hot and juicy, also terrific flavor.

What really caught my attention was how Hannah and the owner treated, what I’m assuming, was an unhoused young man. Especially, with today’s political views when it comes to the most needy in our communities. They treated him with dignity, warmth and Hannah offered to feed him with using her employee discount. I’ve worked the food industry for many years and most owners would have shooed him away. The food was good but this experience showed me the character of the owner and his staff. I will definitely be coming back… I’ve challenged myself to try all the ice cream flavors.

We were in Norfolk for a quick weekend trip and wanted to grab some ice cream with our nieces and nephew. We stumbled across Cool Flames Cafe without knowing anything about it - and now it’s officially a must-visit every time in town!

The service was outstanding. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. They encouraged us to sample as many flavors as we wanted (which we happily did), and every single one was amazing. My personal favorite was the tiramisu - it had actual bits of crumbled ladyfingers in it and was out of this world. The prices were super reasonable, especially considering the quality and care they put into everything. We only had enough time to get ice cream, but we already can’t wait to go back and try the pizza too!

Wonderful little ice cream and pizza shop with excellent service. We stopped for a little ice cream treat and we were excited by the wide variety of flavors. The kids chose superman, chocolate, and celebration cake and all them were hits.

As for me, I couldn't wait to try a bunch of the new (to me) flavors. While I've enjoyed the dessert gulab jamun, trying it as an ice cream was a delicious new way to experience the flavors. The pistachio was the most rich and flavorful pistachio I've had in a long time, maybe ever. After a few more delightful taste tests (the names I can't recall, sadly) I had the tough decision on which flavor to choose. I almost got the flight, so I could have more, but my stomach wasn't up for that much ice cream today.
