Read moreI have been going here for 35 years. I have NEVER worked at a restaurant, or been to a restaurant whose hours state they are open to a certain time, WITH THEIR OPEN SIGN STILL ON and them not serve food till closing. If you can't hold to your hours, then change them!!! You don't shut down before you close and tell people you can't serve them. I understand I showed up at 8:30pm (I worked all day since 6:30am and it was the earliest I could get there), and you close at 9, but that still left me with 30 mins, AND the fact is your listed closing time is 9PM!!! When I walked in, and ask if you were still serving (though your open sign said open), I was told only for to go orders. Though you are a sit down restaurant, and I actually wanted to sit down and wasn't exactly pleased at that, I decided to get what I could with the to go option... only to walk to the grill to get my food and half the stuff was already packed away, which didn't even allow me to get a to go order after all.... and me coming in and attempting to even get a to go order at 8:30 apparently sparked an argument between the cook and the host. Being 8 months pregnant, and having this as a craving, I can't tell you how infuriated I am. Fix your hours, or stay open with food to be served till your hours actually say you close!! After all these negative reviews in the last year about the quality of service, and general attitude towards your customers... I would be quick to start making some changes before you end up another closed down restaurant! You have lost your self a long time customer, bc I will be from here on out going to your...
Read moreI've been in the Hampton Roads area since 2005, and I've been going to this restaurant the whole time. It's one of my all-time favorites. I gauge the likeability of new coworkers and friends by taking them to Mongolian BBQ. If they don't like it, I like them a little less (lol jk). Ever since covid, they removed a lot of the desserts. I mostly only liked the coconut macaroon things and the chocolate pudding. The other desserts were always too dry and not very sweet. Oh, you should always get 2 bowls when you're up at the buffet line. One for your vegetables, noodles, and sauces (use a scoop of every sauce is also recommended) and one bowl for your meats, otherwise, your meat falls off the pile of vegetables/ noodles. It's all you can eat, so some might argue that you don't need to load that much into 2 bowls, but I only need to go up once (unless I get a dessert). The sesame bread is the best. I could eat only those if I had to. It tastes so delicious dipped into one of the soups you can choose from (egg drop soup and hot & sour soup). I highly recommend this place (obviously). I also see people getting their order in carry out containers, so I guess that's a nice option if you're unable to stay, but I could never do that. It would ruin the experience. Also, I suppose there are vegetarian options, if you don't mind your food being cooked where meat was cooked. Sorry vegans, look somewhere else...
