Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Norfolk

2 Stars because I love MIKES WAY BUT I could NOT forget to leave a rating on this establishment!! I typically go here because its near my job & because I LOVE Jersey Mikes! At first everything was A ok but every time I would return id see more and more health food violations & sanitary issues. This last visit put the nail in the coffin. I asked the store manager whose 25th bday it was to speak with him and proceeded to ask him why another employee who was off the clock (red head girl) was leaning over the counter with no hair net, coughing on the condiments & in the back with pajamas on? He 1st advised that it was his bday and that he was cleaning at the moment but did not address the sanitary issues (I knew I was going to leave a rating at that very moment) At the same time I also advise him that on another occasion a customer came in to report that he was given the wrong sub and the cashier proceeded to give it to the correct person??? I had to yell NO & tell the young man that once an item leaves the store its to be trashed because obviously it was opened to determine that the sub was not correct. He looked perplexed but I advised him to educate himself on code violations incase no one advised him. I ended the night with a mini sub with really hard bread, NOT juiced up as it should be per MIKE & thick cut meat (I guess the manager forgot to adjust the dial after cleaning the slicer) AT LEAST IT WAS SANITIZED BUT nonetheless I just cant believe the product that these people are putting out & not to mention who left a 25 yr old in charge of a teenage staff? LORD...

Second time they denied me a sandwich with added cooked peperoni. This place has no communication skills from the rude cooks that want to argue about adding pepperoni to my steak sub I have always ordered it like that now the cook who doesn't even know how to cook saying he can not add any pepperoni to a cooked sub Also i was disappointed when I tried to order a sub on my birthday on a Friday they closed early and wouldn't make the sub but made one for the customer in front of me . I was surprised to be facing these problems from a merchant that supposed to be professional and stay open till the sighn and web says they are open. And I guess it's 2 much to ask to customize a sub or sandwich without having a rude employee argue with you and refuse to make the sandwich . This is unexeptable I will be taking my business across the street from now on that was the second chance beware of stores that hire rude and unhelpful employees . Why do they employ such bad attitude people . Even after I said forget it i will go to Panera ! he still keep on trying to argue with me about how he can't put any cold meat on hot sub even after I said I wanted the pepperoni cooked with the meat like they always did in the past. I think cook learned how to cook from a cracker jack box...

They website saying they are open until 9 but when I arrived at 830 they would not make me any food they not friendly or want to make food so I waisted a trip .if you close at 830 then you need to write that and update the website . I waited for 10 minutes in there no greeting and not a good additude when I asked if they were still open . I was disappointed my birthday and I can't even get a sandwich. This is the edit I previously 3 stars even though they denied me the sandwich when they were still open and decided to close even though I was waiting behind someone in line. They made his food but even on my birthday 30 minutes before closing they refused me. the grill was still on. So I changed my rating here is why

So I finally went back in to give it another try and order a sub a while back, The service was so rude and wouldn't make the sub the way I liked that I used to get that way every time . I won't be going back . The management is terrible to let this type of thing happen 2 tines i been in there consecutivly The service was horrible. I left the orher review from my other acount . Now you have another 1 star...
