My son & his girlfriend treated me out for my Birthday. The reservation was for 6pm on 3/22 for 4 ppl. As we arrived we were greeted by a very nice young lady Tequila. Please excuse me if I missed her name. She allowed us to pick from two tables. We sat down and with in a few minutes we where treated by a young lady with placed silverware & brought 1 cup of water. Then another couple of minutes went by & another young lady came over & introduced herself as our waitress. She initially took our drinks orders. We also placed our order for an appetizer. About 10 mins had gone by she advised that they didn’t have what we had ordered. So we picked the She crab soup instead. The soup was amazing. Unfortunately she forget to place the order for carb dip and my son’s girlfriend had to wait almost 15 minutes extra. By the time she got her appetizer we was down with ours. Unfortunately the young lady that took order advised she was leaving and someone else lar would be taking over. No one was ver came to our table to let us know they was taking over. We waited for our food only to discover she only put in for 1 of the entrees. My oldest son ordered the Cajun pasta with he said was delicious. His girlfriend & my youngest son ordered the lamb chops with Asparagus and mashed out she never put in the order. I will say for it being my first time at this establishment it left a very bad taste in my mouth with the service. However the young lady g lady Tequila didn’t everything possible to correct the situation. If it wasn’t for her to try and make good my experience overall would have been ruined… she gets 5 stars… I will say this whom ever the manager on duty was or manager/ owner of this place. Should have came over and apologized for the experience. I don’t know if I will be going back as first experience is everything to me. But Tequila I what to commend you for everything you did to ratify the situation. Here’s a couple of pictures I did manage to get. Also there’s no parking it’s either street parking or garage parking which is right across from the establishment. Our drinks where a strawberry lemon drop & I believe mine was a white linen martin. I only had the she crab soup. I had ordered side of Brussels sprouts but after finding out she didn’t place the rest of the ordered, I cancelled it. As far as the lamb chops dinner I was told my my youngest son & my oldest son girlfriend they where very good.. he his review is based mainly on the horrible service we received as it being most of our first there!! However as I stated earlier Tequila deserves 5...
Read moreBeautiful place, but everything else was a total let down. We went for a birthday brunch and will never be back. 1)Took some people 30 minutes to receive drinks (birthday girl, close to an hour and had to be remade 2xs and still wasn't what she ordered! Long Islands arent clear). Our mimosas were WARM and inconsistent. 3 people ordered the same drink and each was completely different, even doen to the color. 2) Most of us ordered the she crab soup for appetizer and it was ROOM TEMP! But after waiting for as long as we had, I are it bc I was starving, others either sent it back or took it hime to heat up later. 3) main dishes were plated beautifully, but had NO flavor, especially anything fried. Grease tasted like it needed to be changed and all things fried were over cooked. Chicken & waffles (chicken overcooked & hard) shrimp & grits (shrimp overcooked, 0 flavor, I had more sauce than grits and what little flavor there was from the sauce was like a southwest sauce. They should do the grits the way they do the side order grits because our entire table agreed that the side grits were the ONLY thing enjoyed that day. 4) the staff looked so lost and confused. The open kitchen made it worse. We could see and hear them going back & fourth about orders being wrong, chicken undercooked, or the staff just disagreeing & looking annoyed with each other. The owner had to go over there a couple times to help them figure things out, but it just looked like no one had a clue what they were doing and it reflected in the food & drinks. On this day there were only 2 waitresses and they definitely needed more. Tables were piling up with guests waiting for orders & getting frustrated. 5) I did also find them to be overpriced, if the food & drinks were brought to a higher standard, then I could justify the price, but the fact that I spent $60 for just me, left, and went HOME to eat is a problem. I could add much more, but this would be a book. Overall the whole experience was a 1 out of 10, would not recommend. The potential is there, but they fell...
Read moreVisited this restaurant around 9:30PM after seeing SIX the musical at Chrysler Hall. When we initially walked in we were the only people in the restaurant besides the staff and owner. Another couple joined shortly after. Everyone greeted us and was very polite. We were seated quickly and ordered drinks. I went to the bathroom before looking at the food menu. It was very clean. They have this cute Versace wallpaper in the bathroom and main dining area. We asked for recommendations on the menu. I ordered the fried deviled egg with shrimp, my sister ordered the fried deviled egg with crab (not pictured) both were great but I liked the crab better. My drink came out quickly (not pictured) and was a strongggg crown and coke lol It was great tho. Only needed to order one drink. For dinner I got the lamb chops, mashed potatoes and collards. I believe it originally came with asparagus and they were out and using Brussels sprouts as a substitute. Not a fan of Brussels sprouts so I asked what other vegetable was recommended and she said collards. Now... I typically will never eat collards outside of my home, family or holiday meals but I will say these greens passed. A plus they used smoked turkey instead of ham. Mashed potatoes were so creamy. And the lamb chops were seasoned and cooked well. I ate about half of this meal before getting too full to finish. Meal was a 10/10 the table next to us has a friendly conversation with the chef who also spoke with us. We were greeted by the partner owner of the store. She was very polite and made sure to speak to us as we were leaving. I love black owned restaurant with great, fast service! I will...
