Peruvian Charcoal Chicken and Grill — Restaurant in Norfolk

Food is okay but service is not on the menu. Yep got the whole thing on video. I went in the first time and service was indifferent. I went back the second time and service was great. When I got home all my of 3 dinners was missing a side. I called and reported it to the cashier that took my order and she knew exactly who I was. I couldn’t even be made at her because she was great at the counter. She told me don’t worry she was going to have them fix replacing with 2 half chickens and 3 sides for the inconvenience. I was like wow. She really understood that she messes up dinner. She told me to make sure I came back in a week because they throw the notes away. Well I came back and attempted to place the order and added additional sides and a drink to pay foR. As she was arguing with the owner she called me back to the counter to verify what she was saying to him. Then told me it’s OK we’ll get you taken care of. You can sit back down as I sat down and waited. He took the time to stop production to review the camera to see that the side was missing after verifying they called me to the counter, telling me my order was ready. Then asked me did I wanna add some chicken to my order? I stated that my order had chicken already in it from the mist order a few days ago. The cashier explained to me yes but he decided he only wanted to give you the sides. I immediately told her to go ahead and refund the order that I just purchased and you don’t have to worry about it. I went to the owner to explain to him his breakdowns and what he just did needless to say I’ve given them too many chances already and I’m not going bacK. All I can say is check your food before you leave because they do not care if they mess your families dinner up. Hopefully they will learn service and you won’t...

The food is fantastic! However, I was very disappointed with the restaurants catering preparation and organization in support of an event for my company. My employer was hosting a conference for the employees and we wanted Peruvian char-grilled chicken on Tidewater Drive in Norfolk to provide the food. I submitted the order over the phone. My boss went there to pay the next day, but when he got there no one knew about the order. So, my boss left came back to the office and told me about it. So, I texted the order to them. My boss went back on the same day to pay over $200 in advance so I could pick up the food on the day of the event, the following day. On the next day( day of event) The food was supposed to be ready at 10:30 AM for pick up. When I arrive there to pick up the food no one seem to know anything about the order. They had to start cooking it and this caused my boss to have to rearrange the conference schedule. The Peruvian Charcoal Chicken and Grill was very unorganized and unprofessional. The food was great, but we will never rely on them again for food...

Some of the food is amazing. Best fried yucca in the state, always hot and crispy. Good chicken, chicken bowls are packed and good tasting. lamb and salmon are so good but spicy without being labeled as spicy so be careful.Lamb is super tender. Fried fish is pretty good. Fried rice is excellent. Green beans excellent. Mac and cheese and creamed spinach both watery and terrible. The Bad rating for horrible rude service, i could live with the two subpar dishes. Employees are always mad if you ask for something and guard the yellow / green sauce like it’s being taken out of their paychecks. They’ll always forget to include sauce or dressing with salad. I would pay extra for it no problem just don’t be rude and add a button on doordash to charge extra for sauce ! I order from doordash if I don’t have time to stop in and the employees are hostile to the drivers as well so it’s not me they have a problem with they are just rude.
