I have been a long-time customer of this particular Gloria Jean's for ten years, and during the last nine months under new management, this establishment has gone from being my very favourite, most highly-recommended coffee joint in all of Illinois to the last place I suggest to others. The shoppe itself is routinely short-staffed, customer service has been curt at best, prices have increased while product range and quality has diminished, loyalty cards are denied without explanation, and none of the previous overwhelmingly pleasant staff has remained in employ. Just this morning, on our regular trip upstate to run business errands, my mom stopped by for a mocha latte and left after being dismissed when told her (less than a year-old) gift card was not compatible with the new register system, meaning the remaining full total of $50 was now useless. We are both quite familiar with the fact that franchises change hands regularly and store policies follow suit, but the complete disinterest in offering some small compromise to a respectful and loyal customer following the last several less-than-ideal exchanges is enough to make sure we purchase our coffee at another location from here on. Read moreThis place is going downhill i should have left this review a long time ago for a few months ive grown yo realize this place has changed due to new ownership first off they take away the wifi prevliges to customers i went in there on a sunday asked for the password and was told i cant have the password after i purchased 3 drinks i have noticed they have taken away alot of the buy your own beans to take home when i asked for a bag they told me they dont sell them to the public once i went there ordered a 2 hot lattes and they gave me 2 chillers when i told them thats not what i ordered the lady got mad at me and argued that i asked for a cold latte even though she was handing me a chiller finally she gave me what i wanted but made me take all 4 drinks and replied to give em to someone else who would appriciate it and to top it off every time i go in there the store is being ran by 1 person to do every job including the drive thru cant understand half the things they are saying due to bad english it feels like a family owned forien store it deffinately dosent feel the way it used to and the drinks dobt taste the same this is a corperate store that runs itself the way it wants to i highly recomend just going to the gloria jeans in the mall for the...
Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews but over $7 per drink for shitty coffee is crazy. I love the Gloria Jeans in the mall, but this one is no where near the quality and definitely not worth the drive. I was the only person in line and the whole ordeal took half an hour, the one worker seemed extremely confused and out of it, and my vanilla latte just tastes like straight up milk with no other flavor. I got my friend a cold brew with chocolate and they said they can’t taste it either. I also asked if they have liquid sugar (which starbucks and dunkin have) and she said no but we have sugar free. Why would I ask about a sugar if I want sugar free? It was such a confusing interaction. She also said the chiller is basically a smoothie when I ordered a smoothie, it is not. It’s a completely different consistency. Far too expensive and took too long for drinks that taste horrible. I got oatmilk since i’m allergic to dairy and my stomach hurts after a few sips so I’ll update later about that, I’m worried there’s still dairy.
