Rose Pho — Restaurant in Normandy Park

I would just like to say in the last week, ROSE PHO has installed a very nice POS system and this is no longer an issue. I have ALWAYS loved their food and I will be removing any and all posts regarding their past of mis-charging your bill. Please go support them, now you have no reason not to. THE FOOD IS AMAZINGGGGGGGG, I go literally 4 times per week, even when I was getting mis-charged. That is how good the food is! And EVERYTHING is good. Not just one or two things, literally EVERYTHING! :) Thank you Rose pho for being honest and getting a POS system installed, no more hand written bills, YAY! And, keep up the amazing work and delicious eats! You are doing so well, you have been packed, no where to sit the last few times I have gone in, and that makes me so happy for you!

01/09/2016 ------ BEWARE THEY OVER CHARGE ON YOUR BILL .... The food here is amazing let's get that clear right now, best Pho around, best bahn-mi around, freshest veggies and 5 different types of fresh rolls, what?! Nom nom nom! I've been here maybe 50 times in 6 months no joke, but there is one thing that always gets me and I can't put up with it any longer.... CHECK YOUR BILL.....Every single time I go here I am over charged, from 30 cents over to multiple dollars off .... Its insane that they are literally stealing from their hard working and often very regular patrons. I literally want to tell everyone in the restaurant to beware but I never do .... SO, CHECK YOUR BILL EVERYTIME SO THAT YOU ARE NOT OVERCHARGED.... Unfortunately when this occurs I just don't leave a tip .... And they always look at me funny but then I look right back at them and in my head say, "Well find your tip in the money that you're stealing from me!" Sorry Rose Pho I love your food so much but how ridiculous.... The owner Trinh is always hugging you saying "Make good money and come back!" My son just graduated high school and for his graduation celebration he really wanted to eat Pho. We chose Rose Pho by searching google and they have pretty good reviews.

Upon arrival I noticed the health department rating was "good" not excellent. I worked in food service for years and know first hand that you can get marked down quite a bit and still get an excellent so I'm not sure how I feel about a good. But gave it a try anyway, we already went out of our way to come to Normandy Park from Kirkland so might as well stay.

When we first entered we were greeted by a lady who asked if she could bring us beverages, she seemed very nice and friendly enough. The girl who took our order was very sweet and helpful. I can't say anything negative about the service itself.

Our food arrived and my son's pho was among the first of the food to come out and as he was mixing in the sauce and veggies, he pulled out a long black hair out of the soup with his spoon. Uhhh... gross. He's got shorter blonde hair so obviously it isn't his. We told the girl who brought out the food and she was quite apologetic and brought out a new bowl. Everything seemed just great until I got down to the bottom of the teriyaki chicken and found MORE of the same long black hair on some of the chicken.

By this time we were already full and not eating anymore so I paid the tab and left it at that. The service itself was good (that's where the 3 stars came from) but as far as the "good" on the health department rating, I think I understand why. We won't...

Several things that I didn't like about this restaurant. First of all, I thought the Pho broth was lacking, and did not have that great flavor I was hoping for, and what I experienced elsewhere. All of the rare beef was clumped together in chunks, and was very difficult to separate them.

Then, the real turnoff for me, was the praying done by the owner. She prays excessively over each and every table. It's nice that she cares about her customers, but when she prays for 90 seconds at the table behind you, then does the same at the table next to you, then repeats it at the table in front of you, it got old very quick. Then once she gets to your table, at the exact same time my food was delivered, you feel obligated to refrain from eating until her ritual was completed.

I am not a religious person, and she should not assume that every customer is!

Then prior to leaving, she told me 3 separate times to wish my mother a happy mother's day.

Once again, she assumed that everyone's mother is still alive......mine...
