Food good BUT…This place is DIRTY! No one has wiped down the salt and pepper shakers or napkin holders in forever. How clean can the handles of the self serve beverage refrigerators be? I also noticed the refrigerated meat holding station behind the counter was open the entire time. How cold could that be? How much dirt is getting on the uncooked food? In the 40 minutes we were there none of the 3 person lunch staff came out to wipe down any of the clearly dirty table tops despite people using all those tables and leaving them messy. The next group has to sit down at a dirty table. And the chair handles and seats were never cleaned either. YUCK! There weren't any cleaning products to use to do it yourself even. No hand sanitizer anywhere. My 82 year old mother asked for a cup with ice and a straw and they DON’T HAVE ICE! For the prices they charge they should have ice. And they have some pathetic hazard tape across some dusty chairs with rude handwritten notes telling patrons not to tap on the glass to get their attention. Perhaps one professionally printed sign that says “Please go to the service window” with an arrow would be better. Also, no signage up front or outside to indicate it's cash only. I was surprised at how many people came in for a sit down lunch or take out considering the cleanliness and refrigeration issues but that just means the food is good. We won't be back. PS My mom enjoyed her cheesesteak but never got the hot peppers she asked and paid for and my tuna had way too much mayo and I ordered sweet peppers and got juicy green bell peppers instead which seeped into my roll and tuna and ruined the sandwhich for me even after I tried to take them off and discarded that part of the roll. The rolls and tomato and onions were fresh and tasty and the highlight of my day but I left hungry because the place was so...
Read moreEve's Lunch is one of my favorite places. The first time I went to Eve's they were located in a small shop on Main St. Norristown. My family went there on a weekly basis for the zeps which were the best in the area. Then they moved to a new place in a small shopping center and we continued to buy their sandwiches. My mom loved their Zeps, and so did I and their steak sandwiches.Lunch time was always busy but definitely worth the wait. And then they moved to Johnson Highway and we we're lucky ,we started purchasing our Zeps and they were still delicious and the best one around. As many times that we bought sandwiches there we we're never disappointed. The staff work hard to please the public and their friendly. At times there was a wait, but we never cared about that, because we knew that our Zeps and steaks we be awesome. To this day Eve's is the only place where I go for a delicious Zep. In my opinion I give them a 5 star rating for never changing how they make their sandwiches, their filling and everyone I send their agree with me and my family that Eve's is the best. Highly recommend this place. You can eat there or take your sandwiches to go. And there is parking and it's free. Zeps are their specialty. I hope they remain open...
Read moreMy brother and I were in Phoenixville last week on family business. I live in Florida and my brother lives in Georgia. I had heard about Eve's 2 years ago form a guide at Valley Forge Park by the name of Scott and wanted to see of they were the same Zeps we ate from Lee's in Phoenixville when we were growing up. I must say the short drive to Norristown was well worth it. The only difference I could see in how the Zeps were made were the onions. They were sliced and put on the Zep as opposed to being pulled apart and then put on the Zep. They tasted just like the ones I remembered eating over 60 years ago. The last time I had a Phoenixville Zep was in 1995. My mom visited her sister in Phoenixville and brought Zeps home for us on the plane. I'm sure everyone knew they were onboard from the aroma. I want to thank the folks at Eve's for their friendly service and a great childhood memory. The Zeps were awesome! Worth the plane fare. I would go there again next time I am...
