Door Prize — Restaurant in North Adams

Wow wow wow! How lucky are we that that door prize came to North Adams?! As lovers of Eastern European food, we couldn't be more thrilled. I knew when I smelled fresh dill as I walked in that we were in for a treat. Their take on Georgian Cheesy bread was such an unexpected delight with a soft lemon touch that brightened the whole dish. Some dishes should be made exactly the way your Polish/Ukrainian aunties have for centuries and that is the case with their absolutely perfect perogies. I ordered the vegetarian Reuben (house made tempeh) and I cannot stop thinking about how delicious that sandwich was. My husband had the short rib goulash and said it was fantastic. Plus they have brunch?!?! Can't wait to come back again and again.

Doorprize is a must visit food spot whether you’re visiting MASS MoCA or whether you live in the area. The atmosphere is super casual and neat, with a great little outdoor seating area in a courtyard just outside of MASS MoCA. The meatball sub is delicious and I always get a side of their super thin fries that have just a touch of vinegar. Next time I’m going to order extra pickles because their in house pickles alone are worth the visit. In a town with limited options I’m so grateful to have Doorprize to know I’m getting delicious food with locally sourced ingredients and that I’m going to be seeing super friendly staff that treat you like family. At first I was hesitant that the restaurant attached to our hotel would be good, but my husband talked me into trying it, and I’m so glad we did. The perogies were delicious, they reminded us of a restaurant we used to go to when we were dating. Then I had the cauliflower steak for dinner. The flavors meld so well in this dish. I loved all the flavors. We saved room for dessert and had the crisp and the chocolate chip cookies to share. Both were excellent.

Our server was fantastic and I believe the owner seated us was walking around was so attentive and kind. My only regret is the restaurant is 5 and a half hours away...
