The Tavern — Restaurant in North Arlington

Terrible customer service and really hit or miss. The DJ is the only reason to go here on Thursdays for karaoke. The bartenders are beyond unfriendly, the temperature is never comfortable (you're either shoulder to shoulder sweating, or shivering from the door being wide open with the fans on). I used their portable charger which advertises a charge of $2 and then $1 per hour, maximum $10 per day. I turned it in about 3 hours later, it lit up upon sticking back in the machine, and was locked into place unable to be removed. I was still charged $45 the next day as if I did not return the charger. After an entire week of calling, I spoke to someone very nice I believe named Elijah, who told me he would speak to a manager the next day and that it shouldn't be an issue. I got no call back, so I followed up the next day, to speak to someone very abrupt named Carlos. He couldn't be bothered to help me. He told me it has "nothing to do with the bar" and that I'd have to call the company that does the chargers. As a consumer, the bar is the merchant I'm dealing with. If they want to use a certain vendor in their facility how can they say it has nothing to do with them. It's in their building. He proceeded to try to tell me they make no money on that. That's not my concern quite frankly. I'm a regular customer every week for karaoke and bring different people with me every week, and we SPEND MONEY. Even if what he was trying to say is true, there's a way to speak to customers and they should facilitate my $45 issue. They're the only ones who can prove i did indeed return the device via their surveillance system. He then had the audacity to tell me they don't have security cameras there!!! No problem, fraud has been filed and I'll be sure to let the 100+ customers i deal with on a monthly basis NOT to go there. This place gives off racist vibes from the manager to the security. I went in there with my female friend and she happened to be a Latina. I had other friends that came through and they were black and Indian. Soon as the manager saw them, he wanted to give them a hard time by asking them questions about why they came to the bar. It was very odd for the manager to approach my friends with certain questions that’s not related to their services of the establishment. He ended up having the security to kick them out later on that night and they did not want to have any transparency on why they were being kicked out. Stay away from this bar! Go to One...

I had a really bad experience with this place , manager Carlos and the bodyguard was very rude and racist towards me and my friends . They was trying to find a reason to kick us out, they didnt allow for us to play our music , charging us more than the others and they told us to not smoke even we been smoking outside in the street far from the patio .
