TL; DR: The food was amazing but the service was lacking.
I was very eager to try this place as I am from an ethnically diverse area and missed more than pizza and Chinese when I moved to the Attleboro area three years ago. As a first time customer, I ordered a few appetizers: the cold and hot mezze platters, cilantro wings and Maaneek (lamb sausage) for delivery. Ordering was a very frustrating process as music was blaring over the other end and I had to repeat myself four times. Finally, an order of the cashier's interpretation was placed and the food came within the stated 25 minutes and was still warm. However, the hot mezza platter had beenb interpreted as Moaajanet Sampler and the cold mezza platter interpreted as the Mezza Sampler. The Maaneek, also, did not come, but instead Soujouk (beef and lamb sausages) which was nonetheless enjoyable.
Everything that did come was cooked well except for the chicken, which was a little dry. The sauce over it, however, was wonderful. I believe we got Labneh instead of garlic aioli to go with the wings; but the Labneh, tahini and tzatziki sauces , as well as the baba ghanouj and hummus were incredibly flavorful. The pita bread was perfectly bakery fresh; and the falafel, rakakat and kibbee balls were crispy but not greasy. We got sambousek due to the apparent order mixup but enjoyed it also. As for the meat and spinach pies, the fillings were again masterfully flavorful, although I much prefer the pita-like dough at...
Read moreHave been to many middle eastern restaurants and this was by far, terrible at best. Ordered the standard lamb kabob, which arrived to the table rather quickly (first red flag) and it was presented on a bed of white rice (no pilaf, no seasoning?!?….second red flag) and the lamb was ordered rare. Again, pretty typical of lamb doneness. I cut one piece and it was raw in the center. Waited several minutes for the waitress, who never came so I went to go find her. We were the only table in the restaurant. Found her & the chef and very politely asked if he could put it on the grill a few more minutes. He proceeded to follow me to the table and then adamantly tell me it’s a “perfect rare cook”…..ummmm, no sir, it’s raw. There’s a difference. He continued to argue and finally agreed to put it back on grill, at which point it was now well done (better than raw I guess). I was disappointed that I didn’t just drive to El Basha. It was an expensive lesson and I will not be back,...
Read moreWe've gotten takeout from Habibi's since right after it opened (in 2016, I think). It's always been good and has steadily improved over the years, especially since the COVID era began (they're faster now). I recommend ordering online if possible, because it just goes a little more smoothly and the ETAs are pretty accurate. There's something on the menu for everyone, but we've always gravitated toward Habibi's because the menu is vegetarian-friendly. The arnabeet and fattoush salad are the two items we get every single time, and just add to those whatever the mood and appetite call for. We (wife, son, and I) have never sat down to eat, and always get the chow to-go. We've gotten delivery a couple of times (though not recently) and never had any problems. I think they made a minor goof on one of our takeout orders once, but are extremely consistent. Just a great source of nutritious and tasty Middle Eastern food in the middle of...
