Arriving with reservations, we were seated and beverages were brought immediately. The strip mall restaurant was just picking up business as our orders were taken. It took a long time for our food to arrive. The "sides" od veggies I ordered for my build your own pasta was "in" the pasta- and barrly blanched. The brussel sprouts were cut in half but not able to be cut with the butter knife provided. And neither was the broccoli. I fished it from the bowl and sent it back on a plate. It came back microwaved and just as I sent it. That wasnt what I expected at all. The manager came back and said since it wasn't charged, I won't get any discount for the meal. Half my meal inedible, but no discount. It must have made tge waitress nervous because we also were never offered refills on our tea. Not great. Every one else ate their orders fine...but you can not really mess up a burger!

I dined alone on a busy Saturday night. I got there right before 7pm. I did have to wait about 5-10 minutes. I waited outside and the waiter found me when it was time. I never ran out of drink. My food was hot and delicious. I had an appetizer, fried zucchini sticks, and the Kitchen Sink Chef Salad for entree. They have the best Sweet Moscato wine, had 2 glasses. All together my bill came to $33 before tip. Edit: apparently this isn't a great place to work. If certain staff (family of owners) don't like you, they will create drama and fire you while your kid is in the hospital for kidney failure. I haven't been back to eat there in a year so I can't speak on their food and service now. Just adding that tidbit in there....

Stopped by for lunch before an appointment in Winston Salem. Our food was great and the service was also very good. We started with Spinach Artichoke Dip and it was amazing. For entrees, we had a Goat Cheese and Pear Salad along with a daily special of Sundried Tomato, Lemon Caper Grouper. Both entrees were delicious and the prices were good. Would definitely recommend!

4/5 for mostly delicious food, a comfortable restaurant, & EXCELLENT customer service from our waiter, David! My girlfriend & I ate at Davie Tavern yesterday just after it opened for lunch at 11AM. After paying the check, we decided we'll definitely be going back! 👍

We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, which tasted average; it was mostly breaded & fried calamari rings with three or four sets of tentacles. It was a generous portion size, served with two distinct sauces! We both preferred the sweet & spicy Thai chili to the creamier & much stronger "remoulade" sauce (neither of us had ever heard of that before), but having both options provided a good variety to choose from.

I ordered the Carne Asada Wrap, which impressed me! Its beef was seasoned wonderfully & very flavorful! Furthermore, the warm cheese was filling & comforting. My girlfriend tried it as well, & she also enjoyed the wrap. And, again, it was a fairly large dish-- A+ overall! 👍

The chicken salad sandwich for my girlfriend also tasted great! It was served cold with crisp lettuce, large slices of tomatoes, & a sizable spread of chicken salad. Whereas my wrap felt warm & comforting, her sandwich made us both feel refreshed & satisfied; we both enjoyed her sandwich. 👍

The house salad my girlfriend ordered proved fairly standard-- just an average salad, but definitely not bad or disappointing. My side of "Asian slaw" (cole slaw with warm molasses, I think?) didn't appeal to me. I don't think it was prepared poorly; I just didn't expect warm but crispy slaw, & it's not something my taste-buds enjoyed, but it's always good to try new things!

Finally, I'd like to acknowledge the fantastic customer service from our waiter, David: we never had to wait for him to refill our waters; he was always there at the right time when we needed him, answered our questions about the menu honestly & concisely, & maintained a polite attitude throughout the entire experience. He even put our to-go boxes in a bag for us once we finished putting our food in them! 👍

This was a universally positive experience, & we will be returning to try the other appetizing things on the menu, like the Carolina Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich & Brown Sugar Tarragon Salmon! Our one appetizer & two entrées cost about $38 in total. My girlfriend & I definitely recommend this restaurant based on our one...

Went to eat dinner last night at Davie Tavern. Not many people were in the restaurant and it took over an hour and half to dine? The waitress was slow and was at time missing for long periods of time. Out of a party of six, four of us are big people the host tried to force us into a booth that was way too small for our party! When plenty of tables were available. I’ve eaten here several times in the past and the food was good, but the crab dip was too salty and fishy! I had the seafood combo with founder, shrimp, crab cakes. The fish and shrimp were broiled not fried! The fish was mushy and gross!!! The shrimp were also broiled, again not fried, tasted of freezer burn. The crab cake was mushy like made from too much mayonnaise or some out sauce and was over salty!! The fries they use I’m not a fan of, and i forgot that fact when I ordered. The Cole slaw I tried to eat, and I don’t like their recipe! My wife had ordered a ribeye, the steak the server said she put in for a blackened fillet by mistake and then remembered it was a ribeye before bringing out the food mid cook!! Seemed that if that had been the case they wouldn’t have caught the mistake before serving, I think that the server failed to put in the order to begin? I don’t know? Her food came out last and well after another table that came into the restaurant got there food! When I tasted her steak, it tasted like they didn’t season the meat, like it came right out of the packaging and thrown on the grill!! No flavor, considering they put blue cheese crumbles on top, along with fried onions. My youngest son had the kids Mac and cheese, and it was over salted and had the texture of runny goo!!! This was one of the worst meals I’ve had in along time and wasn’t worth the $181 price before tax and tip! I don’t plan on going back any time soon. And I now am taking it off the places I discuss where to eat. Between the screw up by the server and the slow kitchen when the the restaurant wasn’t busy I might let slide. But the shocking awfulness of the food is the kick in the tail for me! I hope the do better in the future. I was embarrassed because one of my guests, it was...

We found this place on Google and decided to give it a try. Very nice looking, friendly atmosphere. We were seated very quickly (only one other table was occupied) which is always a plus. I think we got there somewhere around 3pm or so which was during their lunch menu. I got excited when I saw the shrimp po'boy sandwich with remoulade sauce but quickly became disappointed when noticed that it was with popcorn shrimp. That's just wrong. I ended up ordering the Carne Asada Wrap and my boyfriend ordered the Fish and Chips. Again, there were no other customers in the dining room yet our food took forever. Seems the Wake Forest game and the North Carolina game were more important than making our food. Not once did the server come to us and check if we were OK or needed refills. She didn't come give us any updates on our food. They were content to just walk back and forth from the kitchen to the bar to gossip and enjoy the games. Finally, the food came out. The single piece of overbreaded, over fried fish was hot (that's the only good thing) but the fries were cold. I didn't even taste my wrap (it looked good) because by then the whole experience had ruined my appetite. And, yeah, the fries were also cold. I'm normally a very calm person when it comes to bad restaurant experiences but this was ridiculous. I told the server that this was unacceptable. She justified the size of the piece of fish by saying it is the lunch portion (guessing she couldn't justify the extra breading and extra burn). I told her we wouldn't be eating this and we were leaving. Am I sorry that I left like that? Absolutely not. I got the impression that our presence was a nuisance to their college football watching festivities...
