I am not one to complain or rant on social media but right is right and wrong is wrong. I went out to dinner earlier this week to a place I go a lot. I ordered a slice of pizza that is always hanging over the edge of the plate. When I got my plate it had a piece of pizza half the normal size. I ask the waitress about it and she said the size was unusual to her too. She went to the kitchen and inquired about it. She came back to reported it was small and they would offer a 10% discount. I ask if I could get another piece to makeup for the half that was missing. She said she would ask. When she returned she said "no". Even though she had been very pleasant I ask to speak to the manager because there was someone other than her making the decisions. After about ten minutes or so a man emerged from the kitchen. I explained the pizza situation and BOY I was not prepared for what happened next. He went OFF. He was rude and very unprofessional with an attitude. I found out later he was the Owner of the restaurant. Needless to say I left hungry, disappointed and will not be returning to Venezia's Italian Family Restaurant in Hillsdale, NC. Please keep in mind for him this was over a $2.05 piece of pizza. For me it is over principal and doing the right thing. I feel cheated and disrespected. I hope you will take this into consideration when making dinner choices in Hillsdale, NC. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. Please SHARE.

We apologize that you did not enjoy your time during your last visit. We want to clarify that the pizza slices did not change in size. Your waitress is new and doesn't know portion sizes just yet. We always strive to make our customers happy and take pride in our relationships with our customers and community. The owner was asked to provide a free pizza slice. We are unable to take all requests for free food, but ultimately we want to make our customers happy and we did in fact provide a discount on the already reasonable price of $1.75 per slice. We would have been more than happy to accommodate you if you had wanted to order another slice. Furthermore, the owner has been the same since he...
Read moreI normally like Venezia but they seemed a little off kilter tonight. I ordered a large New York stromboli and my wife ordered a lasagna, salad and ranch dressing, and garlic bread. We also ordered a mozzarella stick appatizer.
The mozzarella sticks came out in what I consider to be adequate time. After we had finished those, my wife and I were sitting there chatting idly. At this point, we had probably been there for 15-20 minutes. For reference, we were seated and had ordered out entire meal within 5 minutes of walking in the door. I noted that my wife's salad seem to be taking longer than usual so I stopped a passing waitress and asked her to have our server check on the salad. After another 1-2 minutes, she delivered the salad.
About 3/4's of the way into the salad, our waiter delivered our entrees. Now I've ordered the same stromboli here before and it normally comes on a large plate but tonight it was served on a pizza stand. This made it a little awkward to cut the stromboli. Additionally, I was not brought a separate plate to place the stromboli on to while i was consuming it. I just ended up using the little plate they had brought out to server the ranch and crackers for my wife's salad.
Overall, the quality of the food was ok. My stromboli would gush out everytime I made a cut on it and was a little heavier than normal. My wife's food seemed to be fine. Sunday seems to be an off-day...
Read moreI don't normally complain but.....we waited over an hour for our food. It came out one plate at a time (we were a family of 4). The table behind us sat down well after we did and they had their food before us. My husband ordered chicken alfredo and the sauce literally looked like milk poured in the bowl. I ordered the spaghetti al a vence and it came out with no sauce. We asked for the manager and he convinced us to stay and that he would take care of our plates. Between 8-10 minutes later, our "new" plates came out. These were the same plates we had just sent back with some minor modifications. We had certain pieces of food on our plates to let us know if they had been remade like a piece of fried chicken missing a piece of the breading that was on the "new" plate. We will not be back.
One positive, our waitress was amazing, super sweet, kept our drinks filled, anything you could ask of a waitress and ran her tail off trying to make everything right. Thank...
