Jade Garden — Restaurant in Clemmons

Please avoid at all costs. I ordered a fried rice and sesame chicken lunch special. Upon opening my meal, there was pork inside of my rice. I do not eat pork and nowhere was I informed there would be pork in this meal. I called to let the representative know and she states this is how the fried rice is always made and I should have asked about the addition of pork to the rice before ordering. How was I to know to ask such a question? She shifted all the blame on me, refused any refund or exchange, and said not one part of this order was their fault. Highly rude, inconsiderate, short, mean, and stubborn. If you have a choice, avoid this restaurant at all costs. It is not worth it. Instead, go to Jade Garden in Winston. Much better in all areas, customer service, food, and prices included. I do not post reviews generally, but I have a very bad taste in my mouth after this telephone call with her. Again, please avoid this restaurant and spend your money elsewhere. Whatever they comment below my review, ignore them. They only care...

My husband and I started out loving this restaurant when we moved to Advance. But yesterday my husband stopped in at 3:05pm and ordered an entrée… their lunch prices expired at 3 PM. He didn’t question it as he was just hungry and wanted to support a local business, so he paid dinner prices. He ordered hibachi chicken&shrimp and the vast price difference between simply chicken versus chicken&shrimp was a $7 difference. What he received when he got home was a wilted salad with mushy tomatoes, watered-down salad dressing, just a few vegetables and an enormous pile of overly-salty rice, which was not even edible. There were 3 shrimp in his whole entrée which cost him $7 more than just ordering chicken. When you order a combo like chicken&shrimp, the vast price difference implies that you are buying an entree that is 50% chicken and 50% shrimp. Basically, it was barely edible and ended up in the garbage can… It was like throwing a $20 bill in the garbage. Sadly, we probably won’t be back...

We stopped here for the first time yesterday, while out exploring the Clemmons/ Advance area, and were very pleasantly surprised. Restore is super clean, nice tables, very nice server. Fast service, yet not the typical Chinese restaurant with the giant standard white menu wall. We ordered Bean Curd / mixed vegetables & steamed rice($10) , Chicken Teriyaki w/ a salad (lunch special, $8.99), and an order of vegetable lo mein ($10). Food presentation was amazing, portions extremely generous. We had enough left over for a complete extra meal. Next time, I’ll probably order something with more spice to enhance the flavors. Lots of vegetarian options. The chicken teriyaki was served as a sliced breast, not the “sometimes questionable” strips of meat. My husband was pleased with it. Oh, and the sanitation score...
