Hwy 42 Cafe — Restaurant in North Carolina

I cannot believe what just happened I been coming here for a while and just ordered a sundae like what I saw on the website and it's in a regular cup, how about the manager put it in a small ice cream cup and I looked and said this is not what I want, not angry or anything. He gets a whole attitude,starts yelling and throwing around his hands and says well this is what you ordered how do I know what you want, just rude, ugly and disrespectful. I had to keep my cool because he almost made me show my blK A. But I said it ain't worth it, kids in here. Then I proceeded to say well let me go to the car and get my phone so I can show you where it says fudge sundae do you know he says well you still have to pay for this whether you get the other or not I'm like he's out of his mind and who he thinks his unprofessional self is. After he kept being so nasty and hateful I said you know I'm not taking none of this and will not be back in here anymore!! I left it all there went out the door made it almost to my car and decided to turn around and went back in and called him up front and looked him in his eyes and said you know what? Since you need the money this bad keep it!! ( The order) Walked out and it was only $12. Anyway none of the food is cooked I'd rather go to some place where people appreciate their customers because without them you wouldn't have the business. There are plenty of other places to go to!!! Thankfully I don't have to go to such an un grateful place of business anymore!!! You did me a favor.. with your horrible...

Im hoping we just didnt go at the right time? We are new to the area and stopped in around 7pm Monday night for dessert after dinner. The photos and reviews had us all excited and optimistic but when we walked in it was such a let down. 1st thing was the chemical cleaner smell was unbelievably strong and it was unbearable to stay in there for more than a few minutes. Then the display case was completely empty which we didn’t get too upset because we understood it was 2 hours before they closed. We began looking at ice cream but it wasn’t anything special, the menu was unfocused and lacked many fresh options. We saw alot of flavored “sauces” on the menu. Lastly, it just wasn’t a very welcoming environment. There was copy paper pictures of food taped all over the place that were half ripped, and then off to the side there was a shelf with a bunch of of random stuff from Sam’s club they were selling for double the price. But the items had nothing to do with their business and it just seemed all over the place.

Maybe we will try again a different day and give them the benefit of the doubt. But I would say they definitely need a more welcoming, less unorganized, and less chemical smelling...

I picked up my puppy from the groomer next door and had my 5 year old son with me. He wanted ice cream so we stopped in. I was holding my puppy in my arms as I could not leave him in the car in the dead of summer. As soon as we walked in a young employee said can you go outside with the dog and I said i'm not leaving my 5 year old in here alone! He wants ice cream and i'm literally holding my puppy in my hands. He was not bothering anyone or being loud at all. They moved us ahead of the line so they could check us out very quick. After we ordered the electronic device asked if we wanted to leave a tip for a 4$ handscooped icecream. Really, tipping is beyond crazy these days! But I paid and the indian woman who checked us out didnt even say thank you and was very rude. Instead she said take the dog outside. I had a puppy in my arms and was treated like I was some kind of criminal. I will never bring my family here again. There's a nice way to go about things, but harrassing customers and making them feel uncomfortable is not...
