Why can I not rate higher than five stars? I honestly am blown away by Imaginary Cakes. I live out of the area, but was coming to Carolina Beach for a family birthday party. Since it was my dad's 80th birthday, I really wanted something special, and I had to trust a vendor that I'd never heard of before and could not possibly interact with until the day of the event. From the first contact, I have been absolutely delighted with these folks. Extremely responsive, and super easy to work with. I sent a few photos of the general idea of what I was looking for and they created an absolutely delicious and gorgeous cake. It completely captured everything I was hoping it would and the quality was AMAZING. I had a few guests there that know their way around an oven and they were really impressed. I honestly cannot say enough good things about how helpful they were, and how much I enjoyed doing business with them. I absolutely loooove Imaginary Cakes. I was on the hunt for a bakery since my go to bakery for over 15 years went out of business. I was skeptical because they didn't have a storefront with products to test so I just had to trust. I thought at first that it was a little pricey. Having been a cook and baker for over 40 years, I know that great product means that you pay a little more. It was a wonderful experience from the start with great communication along the way. The cake was so moist and the buttercream was super smooth with incredible sharp lines. (I am very picky). They were extremely helpful and perfectly created my vision! I am so thankful that they have a vegan selection as well. Hopefully, that will be a different experience compared to the other vegan cakes/cupcakes that I have tried from other bakers. First, we had tastings with four cake companies before choosing who would make our wedding cake. Our last tasting was Imaginary Cakes and we were blown away! We ordered the yellow cake with strawberry filling (OH MY GOD it's good!) and vanilla buttercream icing. It was incredible! Our guests loved it too! We had not one slice left! Communication was excellent from start to finish, the delivery and setup was flawless and on time, and the design itself was just what we wanted. One year later, my husband ordered a top tier cake just like the original in order to celebrate our anniversary!
