HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT! Let me start by saying that I have NEVER EVER given a negative review to ANY business. I believe (in life) that if you don't have anything positive to say-- you should say nothing at all. However, the way this situation was handled was uncalled for and unprofessional (to say the least). I ordered a cheesesteak with EXTRA CHEESE and arrived home to a cheesesteak with NO cheese-- MISTAKES HAPPEN. I called in and was told that they would keep my name and replace the sandwich when I returned. I informed them that I would not be back that evening. Three days later-- I called to place my order for the replacement sandwich and after being placed on hold TWICE- and a 20 minute phone call- I was told they could not find the "coupon" or "the ticket" and could not replace the sandwich. They said I had already picked up the order and kept referring to an order that was clearly not mine based on what was ordered. Twenty minutes later-I could not believe they were expecting me to invest this much time in replacing an $8.00 sandwich. I was then told that I would need to call the manager on her cell (who was not in the restaurant) to discuss my situation. I responded by giving the young lady MY number and requested that the manager "call me". The manager called within 5 minutes and proceeded to repeat the same info the young lady at the restaurant spewed at me which was a colossal WASTE of my time (repeating that I had already picked up the order). After investing about 30 minutes of my life on this issue-- I ended the call by telling them I was no longer interested in eating at their establishment and I would gladly spend my money elsewhere. ALL OF THIS FOR AN...
Read moreThis spot is incredible, and the real deal if you are looking for an authentic cheese steak. When I saw they bring their rolls in from Amoroso's bakery, I knew I had to try it. Amoroso's is famous for their rolls, supplying all of the most well known cheese steak spots in Philly. The sandwich was on point, the roll was just as good as expected, extremely soft with a nice chew to it, but the outside held up well to the greasiness of a cheese steak. Comes with onions and American cheese by default, but you can have them put anything you want on it. I tried a default order first, and then the next day I came back and ordered another one with provolone and some jalapenos and sweet peppers lol. Both were great, with nicely cooked and chopped steak and a ton of melted cheese that melts into the meat more as you eat it. The Mozzarella sticks were also very good, a nice crispy texture and the marinara had a ton of flavor. The "Chicken Marinara" sandwich (aka a chicken parm) was also great, but I would recommend ordering some extra marinara on the side. Meatball parm was gigantic and the roll compliments it so well. I did not try the burgers myself, but I did see a couple of them and I would say that burgers aren't really their forte, id go with something on the Amoroso sub roll instead. Also, for those "wizwit" fans out there (if you know you know), I didn't see any cheese wiz around, so i'm not sure if they carry it, may want to give them a call and ask if that's what you are looking for. Give them a try, it...
Read moreFirst Impression: It was a quaint place. Not a typical sandwich shop. Seating is typical of a dinner. The table I sat at had a greasy film on it. However, it could also be the cleaning solution they use on the table tops. Either way, it was slightly sticky, would smear, and did not go away after the server wiped the table for us again.
Food: I ordered the Philly cheese steak hoagie. It either took an abnormal amount of time for the kitchen to make the sandwich, or it took an abnormal amount of time for it to be delivered to the table, the end result was the the same though. We waited a long time to get our food. When my sandwich arrived, I was shocked to see my sandwich wading in a pool of ladled on cheese. Over all, it tasted alright. I will definitely remember to ask for less cheese.
Would I visit again: Yes. I gave it three stars because there was nothing horrible about the visit. I assume they were just off their game. A second visit is the only way to see if all the little things are in fact a...
