Tidewater Oyster Bar — Restaurant in Kirkland

Honestly the food was incredibly delicious and our server was super sweet. My problem was in the delivery of the host. We walked in at 4:50 PM on a Friday asked if we could sit there was hardly anybody in the restaurant. We were told immediately that there was a reservation at six so the table that we were at should be fine as long as we could be done by six we were a little taken back at how that was delivered because it wasn’t said in the nicest way or welcoming at all. We were all extremely tired so we just kinda said whatever and let it side to sit down and eat because we really weren’t interested in getting back in the car. Our waitress came out at about 15 minutes till six asked us if we wanted dessert. We figured 15 minutes should be fine because it was crème brûlée we didn’t really want to eat that to go. Our dessert was put in a to go box and brought out to us and said pretty much you need to get up from this table so we put your dessert in a to go box so that you could leave. Our waitress looked almost mortified. Extremely unprofessional it wouldn’t have taken us that long to eat and be done. We weren’t planning on sitting there for 30 minutes to eat our dessert. I get it we were told that there was a reservation at six but packing up our dessert and bringing it to the table and pretty much telling us to leave I’ve never had that happen in my entire life. I wouldn’t recommend doing this to people if you have a table reserved and you don’t think that somebody can get done in an hour and 10 minutes don’t sit anybody and you can lose out on a $250 bill...

My husband and I ate there last night for his birthday (March 28). They were so busy but they did a great job for being understaffed. Very attentive and worked as a team. Casey was our waiter and Michelle helped out as well. Emily, Chris and Robert were amazing in the back getting the food out. I hope I did not leave anyone out. (We try to make sure to get names as all need to get recognized). We ordered the oysters Rockefeller and snow crab steam platter. It was awesome! We will see you again. Thank you for making his birthday dinner amazing as I would have burnt everything. 😃 Much love!

We got take out yesterday and as usual food and service was spot on. I think his name was Caleb that processed our order. It was around 3 or 4 on June 1st. Super kind. Thank you to the cooks as well. Always great!

We went again a few days ago and excellent food and friendly service from Lindan. A huge sweet smile and gracious attitude. Thank you kitchen staff as well! We don't see you but want to recognize your dedication.

We ordered takeout out and had the best Flounder platter with fries and hush puppies So delicious and lightly fried. The Oysters where AMAZING! The Rockefeller was the best! We also had the Gumbo. I will start with the negatives and end on a good note. The fried seafood is just fair. The breading while light had no flavor and feel off of everything creating a kind of mush. And the catfish was not cooked long enough so it was way too wet and mushy as well. I wish I would have read the reviews first as people seemed to love the non-fried options. So maybe the fried seafood is not something they really do not try to specialize in. So if you want fried seafood, go somewhere else.

Now for the good. Got a cup of gumbo and shrimp creole. Both were very good. However, the shrimp creole was insanely good. Absolutely loved it. The Cole slaw was also really good. Course cut, not sweet, and the right amount of bitter. Top notch in my book. The huskies hushpuppies and fries were also good. Lastly, I could find no fault in the service. Our waitress, Lindan, was very friendly, great attitude, helpful, and checked on us the perfect amount. So give the service 6 stars out of 5.

We are definitely going to give it another shot. Next time to get the soups and one of the oyster options. I would recommend this place to anyone, just don’t get the...
