I want to start by saying I really like stacks. Our family spends a lot of money at this restaurant, but the last experience was not a great one. I tried contacting the management about this, but they never seem to be in or they've told their staff not to put them on the phone. On Monday, three of us went for lunch. Right off the hop, I noticed my coffee cup had food stuck to the side, so I very politely asked the waitress for a new cup. No apology, just grabbed the cup off the table and left. She took our order upon returning with a new coffee and we never saw her again the entire meal. She never checked on us, never brought a carafe of coffee or refilled the water, nothing. When it was time to leave, we had to signal her to bring the check. Again, no smile, just a scowl. No apology for keeping us waiting (the place was nearly empty btw). She slams the check on the table and walks away. To add insult to injury, the food took forever and by the time we got it, you could tell it had been sitting under the heat lamp for some time. It's really unfortunate that a nice restaurant has someone so unhappy working for them. I understand people have their good days and bad, but when I go to work I leave my problems at the door. FYI the waitress's name is Maria and according to the receipt, we were there at 1:30 PM...
Read moreI was looking for someplace new to pick up breakfast for the household and I decided to go to Stacks-the guy at the gas station just a few minutes before I went into Stacks told me that the food was really good so I decided to try it. When i got there the older waitress was very nice and welcoming. The manager and other waitress not so much. I sat at the counter and placed my order once my order was complete the manager put it in the window while looking at me because I sit at the very front of the bar right next to the the bakery case, the manager comes around looks at me again turns around open the togo boxes of shakes powdered sugar on the French toast closes the boxes looks at me again walks down to the other end of the the bar or the countertop and fist pumps the two gentlemen and tells them good morning I guess because they were regulars he spoke to them and talk to them but he didn’t even say good morning me or bag my food and say here you go ma’am or nothing. The waitress who greeted me and tooke my order and talked with me was the only good thing about Stacks that i have seen so far. I was not to go in there because “it’s Waxhaw, and tou know how people are in Waxhaw”, but i dont listen to rhetoric like that and went anyway. That manager sucked big time and...
Read moreStacks came highly recommended by a good friend. We arrived around 9:30 for breakfast. They were pretty busy. We were seated promptly. Our server came to the table after about 10 minutes. We ordered drinks and told her that we were ready to order food. She said she would get our drinks first. When she returned after about ten more minutes, she said to give her another minute and she would take our order. She disappeared. After about 5 minutes she returned to the table next to us with the party's checks. She started showing them pictures of her Halloween Decorations and telling them about her home improvements. It is now 10:05 am and we have not ordered our food. An elderly man arrives and is seated behind us. She finished up with the party next to us and goes to the elderly man to get his drink order. We were getting up to leave at 10:15 when she spotted us and finally asked for our food order. We finally got breakfast at 10:45. We are very patient retired people, but her lack of desire to serve her customers, and socialize instead, caused her to loose her tip and the restaurant our business. We definitely do not recommend...
