I’ve always wanted to like this place. The first two times I tried, we walked out after 10 minutes and had yet to see our server. But I’m no quitter so we tried again. Today we went for lunch. Beautiful sunny day, sitting on Morehead Cities stunning waterfront with my incredible wife. The ambiance was spot on. Server showed up promptly. Food and drinks came out fast. I had the “catch of the day” quinoa. The catch was yellowfin tuna. My wife had a quinoa bowl too but a vegetarian version. Both were incredibly tasty. The mandarin oranges gave it a sweetness that excited my palate. Really good. They were hitting on five stars for the food and atmosphere. But the service was once again lack luster. When we finished our cocktails, our glasses sat empty on the table for what seemed like forever. We had to ask another waitress for water and for another cocktail. Didn’t understand because it wasn’t that busy. This place has potential if they can get the service issue sorted out. Crazy. I just don’t understand it.

Great place with a beautiful view of the Harbor Channel in Moorehead City. They have a downstairs area to eat if you don't want to eat in the sun and they have an upstairs deck with shelter to help shield you from the sun a bit while you enjoy your favorite beverage. I came with my husband. He had one long island which he enjoyed and got tipsy off of and I had a delicious bloody Mary that came with olives and a lime. The upstairs deck recieved a nice breeze. I really enjoyed myself at this restaraunt. We didn't eat here because we visited Grumpys cafe a little ways down the street from this restaraunt but the menu at Yellowfin seemed to have a nice selection of America , seafood and mexican cuisine to choose from. I looked at a few customers dishes as they came out and the food looks delicious and has a good presentation and it looks yummy. The portions look decent as well. I would recommend this place to anyone passing through or visiting. PET FRIENDLY!!!

Had such great potential but there were so many issues. The crab dip has zero crab in it. It’s just cheese. The wings were good. The sandwich was good. The buffalo shrimp wrap had zero shrimp in half of the wrap and limited shrimp on the other side. The service was terribly slow and we were forgotten about after being seated and while waiting for drink refills. This was after waiting about 30 mins with only one party ahead of us. I will give credit where it is due- they tried to make it better by making us shrimp for the wrap but the experience was just so bad by that point the whole meal was ruined. The only time we got service at all when when my husband flagged down another server to get our server. When trying to tell the manager about the issue she was too busy tending the bar to stop and take time to listen to my husband’s complaints. Yes, they gave us a free piece of pie but it was not with the over 2 hr experience for mediocre food.

We walked to the building marked SugarIsland Deli. It was locked with a paper sign on the door that said CLOSED TUESDAY. We were there on a Thursday. We walked into the Yellow Fin Pub. We ask the guy working there if they sold Subs . He looked totally confused. He then went to his manager and asked his manager quote" Do we still Subs?" Apparently the answer was yes because then he came back and told us they did. We asked if they sold them at the Yellowfin Pub or at the sub place and he told us it was it was at the sub place and tried to direct us through a door until he realized he was directing us through the bathroom door. That's when his manager piped up," Oh no no no we still the subs right here at the pub we're all one business now." That should have been a red flag. It was all downhill from there. Although the view might be beautiful the food is terrible and the service was terrible too. Our Subs did not taste at all like Subs. They came out warm even though we had ordered all of them to be cold. Either they have been left under a warmer or the meat and cheese had been sitting out for a long time. We ordered some subs with lettuce and then others with mayonnaise or mustard and they didn't get one of our orders correct. Also on one of our Subs there were chips instead of fries. There was a plastic container next to the chips with something in it and a big I on it with magic marker. There was never any explanation as to what it was so finally I asked the waitress. She said "it's Ranch some of our customers like it with the chips."That's fine but don't you think they would explain that if they had any sort of customer service? Bottom line is is they don't taste like Subs, the people there don't seem like they know what they're doing, and quite frankly our waitress was not friendly. Also they're very unfamiliar with what is on their menu. They didn't know what was in their Deli spread that's supposedly a signature on all their subs. They also had no clue what was in their kale salad. Every time we would ask what was in their menu they had to go ask their manager because they just had no clue. My husband is nauseous and we wish we had never...

This review is from the EI Men’s Burger club and pertains to only Yellowfin Pub Burgers. There were 16 in our group, and we were seated after about 1 hour wait on a Friday at noon and this was considered to be reasonable. The waiter took our order right away but it took about 30 minutes for our beer to arrive and 45 minutes for our burgers to arrive. Compared to other restaurants we have evaluated we felt that service was on the slow side. The burgers arrived as ordered (no mistakes). Feed back from the group was that for $18-$20 burgers, the flavor was not impressive. Overall value was below other restaurants in Moorehead City that we have tried. There was a good selection of tasty sides. High marks for the location and the view of the harbor from the upper deck bar was great. Cashing out for individual tickets for a large group was reasonable. Overall, the group agreed that a fair rating for the Yellowfin Pub burgers was 3*. On a personal note, I have had seafood from this restaurant in the past and it...
