Zero stars for this creamery. I usually do not write reviews but this place really rubbed me the wrong way. First of all the ice-cream here is mediocre at best but the staff is rude and greedy. My little sister and I stopped in as first time customers for a nice Saturday night dessert. They were not giving samples of icecream at this time (which I understand with Covid, etc) but we were unsure which flavor we would actually like. We ask what flavors they recommend and they blatantly ignored us and then when we asked a THIRD time they named off half of their popular flavors. We each tried one scoop of banana and to our surprise we didn’t like it. We asked politely if we could trade it for another flavor (which is what most creamerys are doing now if they can’t provide samples) and the manager didn’t even turn her head and just yelled ”we don’t provide samples nor will exchange, if you don’t like it you can buy another but I’m not giving you another flavor for free“. I’m sorry but that is just unheard of...Jenni’s, Ben and Jerry’s, even Baskin Robins makes sure their customers go out happy and this creamery made sure for us not to. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND giving them business. Save your money and just go get a pint of ice cream at Harris Teeter. New Edit: To the owner who just called all of this a “lie”. Take ownership of your faults and use this as constructive criticism to make your business a better place. I see plenty of other reviews claiming how your service is bad and it seems like a pattern. You won’t be open much longer if your attitude stays the same way. The customer is always right at the...
Read moreI’m a regular here and love the ice cream and all the dairy free options they have. My friends and I came in tonight and she ordered her ice cream and made sure to tell them she had a dairy allergy. They Lady that owns it gave her the whole run down of changing scoops and gloves and made us feel very comfortable, especially since we were here the night before with no problems. We got her ice cream and she started to have an allergic reaction after one or two bites. Thankfully paramedics were on the corner and helped us give her her epiPen and she is okay. I went back in to figure out what flavor they had actually given her or let them know it was a possible cross-contamination and the Man that owns the place informed me that the whole cone and two scoops in it were dairy. I explained to him that this was unacceptable especially since her ticket was marked with dairy allergy and even told us they would switch scoops, gloved, etc. He did not have much to say and brushed it off like it was nothing. Mainly ignored what i was saying and continued to ask one of the workers if he had changed his gloves. Sorry but the gloves were the least of my worries considering you gave her a dairy cone and dairy ice cream. After having worked at an ice cream shop myself and seeing how easy it is to follow the precautions to make a safe cone allergy free, I am extremely frustrated and upset with how carefree they handled it and did not ask if she was okay or anything after the fact. Will not be trusting this creamery with allergy concerns...
Read moreAfter reading some other reviews, I now know that I’m not crazy. Every time my family & I go here, over the last 2 years, the vibe & attitude of this place is off. I would say borderline rude, but more so just not friendly. My wife & I just can’t figure out why. Is it the time of day we go? Do they get overly stressed when too many customers or big families come in? No one seems to care or appreciate that you are there. The guy (which may be the owner) always seems impatient or like he’s annoyed. We feel like we are inconveniencing them when we ask for samples, especially more than one. The only reasons we still go here are b/c we live in Waxhaw (convenience), we like to support local businesses, and the handmade ice cream & sorbets are very good. Our last visit was probably the most unwelcoming feeling we have had to date.
When we want great ice cream & great attitudes, we go to The Local Scoop in the Promenade on Providence. It also has great handmade ice cream & sorbet. We don’t go often b/c it isn’t close to us, but when we go it’s always a great experience. The workers talk & laugh with you no matter how busy they are. They encourage you to try as many flavors as possible to make sure you find what you are looking for. When the owner (Ralph from Syracuse) is there, he makes you feel like you are the only customer there & he is genuinely appreciative of...
