My go-to Japanese takeout is closed on Saturdays so I gave this place a try. I have never had a bad experience when it comes to simple Japanese takeout staples, noodles and fried rice. How could it go wrong 🤷🏼♀️. What a disappointment. I spent $7.47 for a side of noodles and a side of fried rice. The portions are very small compared to other Japanese takeout. The noodles were disgusting. There was a strong shrimp flavor and I was repulsed; I threw them out after the first bite which I spit out. The fried rice was ok but I ruined it when I put the disgusting white sauce on it. It was very sour and had a vinegary flavor. After a few bites, I couldn’t handle it and threw it out too. What a waste of time and a waste of money. I’m still hungry but too disgusted get anything else. The staff were very nice and hard working. The interior was old and unflattering but who ready dines in anyway? This place has been around for at least 10 years so I guess they’re doing something right. I’m just one person and my opinion shouldn’t be anyone’s sole reason why...
Read moreSo this was my first time ordering and eating Yummi Japan. Well the amount of food that was ordered was quite good. Very generous portions for the price. I did order extra meat in all three entrees. What was ordered was Hibachi Steak & Chicken; Hibachi Chicken, and Yummi Chicken, with sides of Crab Rangoon and fried dumplings. So it looked very tasty smelled wonderful, unfortunately flavor was seriously lacking. I tried the Hibachi chicken and steak and very minimal flavor to none at all. The Yummi Chicken, sorta like General Tso's flavor chicken less hot though. Even after adding the white sauce it did not help. I'm sorry, but when you are cooking Hibachi Steak and Chicken it's not bad to pour on the flavor. I'm sorry buy it looks good but doesn't taste good. So probably my last time ordering...
Read moreGood service, food sometimes is different in taste. Never ate inside. I was stopped by another patron and was asked why was I tipping, so I answered: the cooks are working hard trying to keep up with orders I want to give so that they get the tips left. The patron told me that they don't get tips, the owner keeps them. What? The owner keeps them? Oh heck no, I went back in and asked the employees if this was true in Spanish the answer was: the owners don't share anything with them. Really I asked the owner and she told me that she shares the tips. I asked to give me back the $20 dollar bill I put in the tip as she gave it to me, I said shame on you for also taking the tips for yourself. I will not be going back. And if I do I will tip the employees myself. Very sad place that...
