New York Pizzeria — Restaurant in North Charleston

Okay pizza but dangerous area. Service not great.

The pizza was good, not great. Crust was a bit too much like a biscuit, not crispy or chewy like I'm used to from NY style pizza. The sauce was right on in taste, but a bit sparse on this pie. The cheese blend and amount of cheese was just right. All of that is the good news.

We called our order in. When we got there, 15 minutes later, they had not even started on it. While that was not horrible in and of itself, the wait put my wife in a captive situation with a panhandler who was bothering her right inside this place of business. The owner or manager did not do much to get rid of him. Worse than that, the man was not covering his face and kept moving too close to my wife, who is high risk for Covid. This is not acceptable. It isn't worth going through for amazing pizza. This pizza was okay,...

Waited over an hour for a “30 minute” order at 9pm on a Wednesday night. All the reviews said the owner was a little slow at taking orders and all and that would have been fine. But when I got there 30 minutes later the pizzas weren’t even in the oven yet. Which yeah I can wait for good food. But this wasn’t worth it. The pepperoni was good, I will say that. Albeit pretty greasy. The “New York” pizza was not good at all, old ingredients and soggy, even fresh out of the oven. The menu looks good and plenty of lunch specials but I’d give yourself lots of time. Also don’t go after dark unless...

They have such a variety to choose from n they really are one of the best here where it comes to pizza. Wings on point. Great cheese steaks n subs. Mozzarella sticks like whoa.... they even make great pasta dishes n have pretty good deserts. New York Pizza has been my go to spot for the past 4 or 5 yrs. Unfortunately they don't sell alcohol which is due to their landlord who has the store 2 doors down n i advise anyone to stay out...
