PC Caribbean Delight — Restaurant in North Charleston

My, my, my. What a meal! SO I was craving oxtails and bring that it was a shopping day I had noTime to make them so I did a little Yelp search and came across Caribbean Delight. A small, unassuming, brick building that houses some REALLY GOOD Jamaican fair. I parked around back and walked in, immediately greeted by the nice woman behind the counter. I reviewed the menu and decided on the "small" oxtail plate with rice and peas, and cabbage. I also ordered a Jamaican beef patty. The price was reasonable. I sat at the counter and my food was in front of my before I could get settled. Let's talk portions... a small is MORE than enough food for one person. The taste: SO FRIGGIN TASTY and authentic. The rice and peas were seasoned well, the oxtails and gravy were sticky and thick and flavorful and the cabbage was tender. I was so happy eating this food that warmed up my little soul. Nothing was too salty and it reminded me of my best friend's mother's (who is Jamaican) oxtails... I was impressed. I ate the beef patty later and was equally impressed at the authenticity and taste. Trust me, I will be back and trying the stew...

My mom went here a few months ago and said it was soooo good but I was skeptical because I don’t eat spicy food so I just called her and asked her if the food was too hot or could I handle it she said it wasn’t overly spicy. I ordered on uber eats and this place is right around the corner from me and they are busy most times when I’m riding by so I said what the heck let me try it. Yallllll it wassss so good, I had the jerk chicken,oxtails,cabbage,peas and rice and plantains my favorite was the jerk chicken not too hot and some sauce they had that is so dang on tasty. The oxtails are good too I liked them not spicy at all the rice and peas are good and the cabbage I enjoyed my only con is it only came with two plantains but that’s not that serious the plate I got was $22.50 and it’s packed with mad food and flavor so thank yalllll because I loved this meal I was so tired of eating the same stuff so this for me was different and I will...

I’ve been to this restaurant (both franchises) many times. However, I stopper for about 8 months due to the recurring observation that they sell stale meat. I am Jamaican myself and this is the third ordeal I’ve had with them selling stale chicken. The way you know if meat is stale is by the tenderness and texture of it. I had stew chicken with rice and peas yesterday and the rice was delicious, cabbage as well, even the gravy from the chicken but the chicken itself was so stale I couldn’t even have 2 bites. Undeniably tough and hard to chew, the meat wasn’t white or falling off the bone. It was rather brown and hard to remove. I have seen great business plummet because they stop making efforts for their food and I know more people realize this. Both the Moncks Corner location and North Charleston do this same thing where they sell stale meat and bask it in gravy which does...
