Smashley’s Burger Bar — Restaurant in North Charleston

OKAY!! So I'm just writing this as simply (for now) a viewer. Quick story. I seen a clip on IG of some place (not around here I now see lol) called SMASHERS burgers. Video was funny. So tried to find one by here. But searching it, this came up. The pics took me on an adventure because well. Look at them! All the reviews are good. And the customer pics look JUST AS GOOD. Which we all know is rare. Im unable to drive (barely walking) due to an accident. Out of work the whole blah blah. I have a list of places I came across (I absolutely loooove food man. So this part kinda sad but let me be me!) while endlessly scrolling during this heal up time. Its sucks kinda just teasing myself. But this list is places I want to try as soon as I can. (Got a long healing journey ahead of myself) But no joke this place is on a list of its own now. I WILL BE coming here LITERALLY the 1st day I actually am able to. AND I'm seeing yalls brussels apparently are top tier too. Its one my favs but im SOOOO picky with em. Dang I seriously can not wait. So yeah. Just doing this as a pre review thing. Never done this before lol. But off advertisement alone. Yall killing it!! And how I just randomly came about this. It just feels like a love story in the making, but so meant to be!!! We were hungry for a burger on a late Monday night when not many options were open. Decided to check this place out and we were happily surprised.

Walking in we were not expecting it to be a "prettied up" burger bar. The place goes all out with its logo and blue/pink theme, has interesting decor, and most importantly has a very inviting feel to it for everyone and of all ages.

Even though you order at the register and pick-up on the side, the service was fantastic. I'm assuming it was the manager or owner who served us, but he had a great personality and engaged very well with his customers from the time of ordering food to until you walk out with your bellies full. I also strongly appreciated the respect he had with the staff and how well they worked together to get the orders fulfilled.

Finally... let's talk about FOOD. Besides burgers, the menu has various options to choose from including rotating specials, rice bowls, Latin foods, gluten free dishes, and vegan/vegetarian friendly meals, (oh and beer!). Since we were hungry, we ordered a Smashley burger, the Hey Zeus burger, brussels sprouts, fries, and the plantains (special of the day). Though I regret not taking a photo, the food presentation was phenomenal! It's a mixture of a fast food feel with the looks and taste of a gourmet meal! The smashburgers were very juicy and flavorful, and the sides were fantastic! The brussels sprouts and plantains were incredible and their accompanying sauces were a great touch!

We live about an hour drive from Smashleys, but we were going to be in North Charleston, and I had read several great reviews, so we stopped in. It was about 2:15 pm, and we didn't Realize their lunch hours ended at 2, but they didn't say a word, John took our order, and was so courteous and patient! I went for the Lasagna burger meal, and I am really at a loss for words of how absolutely incredible this sandwich is!!! While we were eating John came out to see if everything was ok, and we struck up a conversation. He told me that the Lasagna burger was one of the reasons he started working there! The diversity of the food is mind blowing! My husband got a beef bulgogi rice bowl which was huge and very delicious. I wanted the zucchini chips sooo bad, but I'm a light weight, and couldn't eat both, lol! There are Mexican, and South American choices, American and Asian choices, and save room for the spectacular desserts like Cotton Candy cheesecake and a beautiful concoction called a Crespelle! The prices are soooo good for the quantity and quality, and the place is so clean, and comfortable! Seating inside and out, and adorable merch too! We will definitely make the drive regularly for this...
