I have been meaning to try this since I moved to this area. The parking lot was easy to navigate and available parking was convenient near the entrance. I was greeted and seated right away, on the patio as we requested. My daughter was given a children's menu and our drink orders were taken immediately. When the waitress came back she had our drinks and I requested crayons for my daughter to color the menu, unfortunately they were out. The waitress did, however, make up for this by offering my daughter a pen to do the activities - it was a save. The menu had a lot of selections, but it wasn't over run to the point of being difficult to navigate and decide. Our drinks came shortly, I ordered a Cherry Lemonade mixed drink I believe with tequila, a lemon wedge and cherries. My drink was well made and I really enjoyed drinking it; I didn't request water until mid-meal. We got the the "Trio of Dips" for our appetizer. While this was presented well, it lacked imagination. There were three sauces that came with not that many tortillas. Guacamole, salsa, and queso. My favorite of the three was queso, but even it lacked flavor. There was zero spice in the salsa or the Guacamole, but both of them could have - at the very least - used some salt. My entrée I got The Kickin' Chicken Philly in a wrap. I don't have anything bad to say about it, but I don't have anything good to say, either. Maybe? I just picked the wrong item for me from the menu. There was enough flavor, but too much cheese to taste the chicken - or any other ingredients for that matter. The French fries were perfect, though, and there was plenty of them. My daughter ordered chicken tenders and she said they were really good. My check came and my table was cleared in a timely manner. The waitress was very good and professional. When I got back home I realized that a good amount of the paint from the table we say at had actually transferred in chips from the table to forearm and had to be washed off in the shower. The food was good enough, the prices are very decent for a sit-down, dine-in, front and center restaurant. I think I'll go back soon and order a different item, and who knows, maybe...
Read moreLet me start by sayimg I am a long time patron of Kickin Chicken. My last visit has made me doubt I will return. My wife and I went to grab dinner Sunday evening. The restaurant was not busy. We were seated immediately. Ten minutes later, our waitress came over to take our drink orders. I ordered a water without ice and my wife ordered a water with lemon. After another ten minutes, our waters arrived...both with ice.
After a few more minutes, we placed our order, my wife ordered a King Street taco minus the shrimp, but adding chicken. She was told by the server that would be an ok subsitution. I only ordered a Cranberry and Apple salad, hoping nothing could go wrong with the order.
After waiting for another 30 minutes (non-busy), my wifes' order was completly wrong and cold. My salad had the incorrect dressing. When the waitress finally came back, we told her the issue. She took my wife's food back along with my dressing. Moments later she returned with the same dressing saying it was the vingarette that Iordered but looked more like Ranch dressing. Finally, my wife's food was brought back out. All they did to my wife's tacos was add the missing the ingredients. They were still cold. They later brought out new fries that were the only hot food she received.
While we were still eating, the waitress came and asked if we were ready for the check. We said yes. Before walking away she took the fries, that my wife was still eating, along with my dressing for my salad. Before anything could be said, she was gone. We were both in shock. Once the bill came, she charged us for the fries. We had to wait again for her to make her way back so we could get it corrected.
Not only did we have a terrible experience with sever issues, never once did a manager come over and apologize or anything. It was poor...
Read moreMy coworker and I will never ever go to this kickin chicken ever again. We called and explained to the server, we would like to place our orders over the phone but, we will be dinning in. This was done to ensure we wouldn't waste our entire lunch break while the food was prepared. The young lady took the order and said your order will be ready when you arrive. Once we arrived, we told the server we called in our orders but, we would be dinning in. She said ok, you will have to pay now and gave us the total. We paid the bill. I asked the server for a cup of water and do we sit anywhere. she said yes that is right. We sat down, about 6 minutes later she brought out our food in to-go boxes and literally slid the containers onto the table and immediately walked off. We waited several minutes for her to return but she did not. This establishment was not busy at this time. We finally got her attention and requested ranch dressing for our salad, and chicken nuggets. She said ok and later returned placing the 2 ranch cups onto the table and proceed to depart. I tried to gain her attention by saying excuse me again to ask, may we have some water? She never came back to our table. I stated to my co-worker let's go they are so rude. This is the second time we have experienced terrible service at this particular location on Dorchester Road. We are loyal customers and haven't encountered such poor service at the North Main Street, Mt Pleasant, and or Downtown location. This establishment does not reflect the quality of service we came to know and love. Unfortunately, we or our other co worker will no longer support...
