Had a bad dinner this time. My friend ordered stuffed flounder with shrimp & scallops, baked potato, applesauce & a cup of seafood bisque. Her soup came out cold, so it was sent back to reheat, then when her dinner came out she tried to open up her baked potato & it was so overcooked it was little flackyness left to the potato it was all dried up & inedible. Our waitress (becka)came out & asked how things were so far , so she told her. She kept apologizing(but it wasn't her fault) shetook it right back to the cook when she came back she told my friend she'd have to pick something else cause the didn't have anymore potatoes (baked or sweet potato) The waitress looked over at my friend & I guess by the look on Andrea's face she knew something else was going on. Andrea showed her the plate & pointed to the the shrimp & you could see the weren't fully cooked. They were cold & undercooked. The scallops didn't look any better & the stuffed flounder was all dried. If this wasn't enough for the 2 of us, my openfaced beef was just the opposite, it was overcooked. I was able to pick a few pieces & eat the mashed potatoes, but that was it. Our waitress (becka)told the cook & the manager what we had delt with. The waitress came back with an adjusted bill which didn't charge for the stuffed flounder dinner. Then the manager(I believe he said his name was Adam) came ove to apologize for the dinner & asked if he could get us a complimentary piece of cake. He ment well, but neither of us wanted anything else. Even with the bad food, our waitress Becka did all she could to help us & her service was great 👍

Decided to go here for a family outing on a Sunday evening. There was only about a dozen other people in the place including the staff. The staff was very polite and friendly. It is also very easy to noticed from 40 and had a decent sized parking lot. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan ($15.99) and enjoyed her meal. They give you a large sized piece of toast with a decent amount of thick-noodles spaghetti. Her chicken was well cooked and was devoured relatively quickly. I ordered the Beef Cheesesteak with fries.($9.99). It comes with standard with marinara, which I opted to skip. The beef was a tad bit salty and they were a bit light on the cheese, but as a whole it wasn't a bad cheesesteak. The fries on the other hand were great. They are the double fried Belgian style, which are a favorite of ours. My 4 year old ordered the Cheeseburger and substituted fries for the green beans. The burger is the same size as an adults, so you may have leftovers as we did. I can't say much about it, as he ate and much as he could stomach before we boxed it up. Overall it is a decent new restaurant and we would return. I would however opt to try something other than the Cheesesteak, as I feel that Pat's (across the street makes a better one) and may split something with my son since they did have good portion sizes.

Went to North East Family Restaurant, in North East, Maryland of course, yesterday to have lunch with a bunch of elderly nurses that I used to work with many years ago when we were all much, much younger. I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars for ambiance, service, and food. This family restaurant is excellent. The restaurant is clean, neat, and laid out in such a way that the tables are not jammed together. It's easy to maneuver to and from the table even if you're disabled. The service was excellent. Our group of 6 had one servers and a busser. We had just as much attention from the staff as we needed. They didn't hover, but they also didn't ignore our needs. The staff people were friendly and efficient. The food was served promptly. They serve breakfast all day. Some of us had breakfast, and some of us had lunch. I had a hamburger steak with fried onions. It was well prepared, juicy, and delicious. The salad, baked potato, and onion rings that came with it were very good. The portions were generous. There's plenty of free parking in their parking lot outside. Parking and restaurant are wheelchair accessible.

So, I've been here twice, recently, and, picked up an order, and I have no complaints. Quite the opposite, actually. By realistic standards, and expecting to receive food and treatment like what it is, a family restaurant and not placing some, unattainable standards, by any means let alone, for a little local restaurant to have to meet. That being said, in my opinion, the food, everytime I've eaten there recently, has been above average, by far. Mind you, I've only ordered chipped beef gravy over biscuits with an order of home fries and bacon at like 5:30 pm, and my server was Jeremy, and the service was first class, he asked if everything was okay, and if I needed anything else in between everything, and had a sense of humor, which was pleasant, since you don't see that much anymore. Then, I picked up, 3 eggs, home fries, scrapple, and toast. This is also where I had the one issue I had. I tried to call and order ahead three times, but nobody ever answered, and it went to voicemail, or answering machine, or whatever. However, it was a Sunday morning, I think, and depending on how much the back has changed, the cooks may still be responsible for the phone, which when I worked there 26 years ago for 3 years as a busboy, and dish washer, was around the corner on a wall down past fans and all kinds of noise, so it could be justified, and I know this so it's not a big deal to me. But, to somebody else, in a hurry, somewhat, whatever the case, it could be a bigger deal. But I'm an understanding guy and I've definitely had experience in the restaurant industry so I understand what goes on. I'm just saying, if that is the case, maybe time to change it, or forward them to their cell phones or something that they can have on them with a Bluetooth or something. Honestly, may be worth the investment. But, not my business, or profit, so not too worried about that end. That's my only complaint, honestly, and it's not really even, just to make aware of really, but I'm sure I'm not the first. Anyway, all that food was fantastic as well. Also, the time it took to get my food ordered, and waiting for it, really wasn't that much time lost, so if I was in a hurry, and had set time aside in case of problems anywhere, like if i had been on some schedule with time allotted for breakfast and thought about potential problems and was smart enough to take some time off before I added up how long I had, I would've been fine. The third time was in the last hour they were open and they had one waitress, Haiden, who was absolutely phenomenal. She had to handle the whole diner without buffet room, because it was during the week, on a Thursday or Friday evening, and they only have that on weekends, I believe. As well as taking care of the customers, she had to do all the prep work, for all the tables for the morning shift, and clean the dining area floor, and tables, and do...

I hate to even have to write this because my family and I have been to this establishment several times and the food was good but today was an awful experience to the point my family and I won't be back. We were greeted and sat as soon as we walked in by a nice young lady. The table we were sat at needed to be wiped down (which isn't a big deal). A different young lady came over, wiped the top of the table and said she would be back to take our order. Well here is where the true problem lies, my husband and I sat for 15 minutes and no one came over to our table. A table of 2 men came in (after we'd already been sitting for 15 minutes) and were sat at the booth behind us and immediately an older lady who was working asked for their drink order, she called them by name and just verified that they wanted what she was bringing them so it's safe to say they know each other. At this point it was evident that we were being ignored, but that same older lady asked who had our table, as she obviously noticed we hadn't been waited on, yet she still walked away without serving us. The young lady that sat us then came back over to us about 2 minutes later and asked if we had been helped yet, we said no, and yet again, walked away without providing service. At this point we had been in this establishment for roughly around 20 minutes without being served, yet people who came in long after us were being served. My husband and I got up and left. We didn't cause a scene or be nasty or rude, we just got up and left and will not be returning. It's a shame to run a business and so obviously ignore your customers, I guess my money wasn't as good as the people they...
