Dino's — Restaurant in North Haven

I was going to update an old review but today was so bad I left with no food and refund

As I’ve seen in other reviews,especially comments on fb, the order counter girl is the worst. She is rude and has a hurry up vibe and then when you put order in you are told, “it’s gunna mention something about a tip but if your not tipping hit the green button” well my debit is broken and I need three tries before I can swipe it. This tip reminder for already terrible service is annoying enough, but to hear it three times in a row I had it and said, you will probably get better tips for better service and not demanding it. Well they decided to try and mess with me and my gf. The skipped our number even though I watched it prepared and saw them place it off to the side , I’m not in the area anymore to much and Dino’s was a huge part of my childhood, I sucked it up and was like I can take the joke ha ha. But when the guy 2 guys after me got his giant order before me and I said you went one two skip , they rushed out a cheese burger then said well your order must be larger that’s just a cheeseburger he he . Thank god my gf behaved bc she was so close to slapping that smugg something about a tip girl . So after waiting well over 40mins to get clam strips and a lobster roll an over 50 dollar order, I didn’t make a scene but said I have a long drive I need my money back. Well that girls face sank so fast and all she said was oh shit uuuuh I need permission🤣 they made my food I saw it sitting there played along and they took it to far, for a no refund place I got my refund and suddenly was offered my food I didn’t even want it at that point. It makes me sad I will never be back, but will say this look around at what seems to be a thriving dining room all of them are over 60 for young where’s your next generation good luck that would make me nervous also willing to bet that...

7/26/23 It's been many years since my shadow has crossed the threshold of Dino's. The reason for that was that the food quality had deteriorated so badly I vowed never again to eat there. I'm chowing here tonight because a friend made the arrangements. Dino's has also moved to this location from their original restaurant about a mile or so north of here. A building that was demolished about two years ago. I'm torn between two and three stars, so after some consideration I'm going with two stars. I wasn't in the mood for seafood this day so I instead ordered a "Dino's Burger". Two patties with bacon, cheese, lettuce & tomato. Asking for pink in the middle was futile. Well cooked is what I got. I guess "have it your way" means you get it whatever way we cook it. The Rhode Island chowder was "ok" not a lot of clams or potatoes, or for that matter, much of anything. The side of Cole slaw rates a star by itself. Very good. My dining partners opted for clam strip dinner and a combo platter. Both said the clam strips were "chewy". The rest of the combo platter was given a thumbs up. Service was friendly and very quick. I don't see myself retuning any time soon. Amazing people that are there Amazing

We just came from a Wake in East Haven CT, We live in Walllingford CT, driving through my husband said let’s pick up dinner at Dino’s.

I was yes sounds delicious. We ordered, we got all the way back home, my order was wrong

My husband called him, he was amazing on the phone, unbelievable Customer Service, I am sorry, would you like to come back down here and I’ll make another meal for her or would you like us to give you a gift certificate?

 Now mind you, I had a procedure done today so I haven’t eaten nothing all day, then when we got home we had to leave to go straight to the wake,

So I said nope I’m coming down to get it, he says no problem it’ll be ready when you get here !

when I got down there it was ready ☺️ then he went to the cash register and he took out a $20 bill. He gave me the new food an $20.

I said no no no !!! You don’t have to do that, he goes yes yes I do !!!

Here’s your food with and here’s the money for the order, and we do apologize very very much and we hope to have you come back.

Now that is an amazing Customer Service and that’s what should happen

I will support their business like crazy
