I was excited after reading about this new Pizza place as I really like good New York pizza. I’m hoping the issues I encountered were because it’s a new business and this is part of the kinks in a new operation that will get worked out.
I started trying to order online about 5:45, thinking that was plenty of time to pick up a pizza by 6:45. The online tool said the earliest I could pick up the pizza was 7:50. I tried to call the number listed, a recording answered saying the voicemail box hadn’t been set up yet and I was disconnected. I then tried to email the restaurant (website address) and the mail was returned with an unrecognized email address. I then tried to order online with my phone and it said I could order and the pizza would be ready at 7:10. Order placed. The online ordering tool automatically adds a 10% tip to the price, even though I was not getting any service with this. I guess $26 for a large pizza wasn’t enough. We arrived at 7:00, just in case it was ready early. It apparently had been ready for some time as it was just warm. I will say, even though it was cold by the time we ate it, the pizza was very good.
I’m hoping all the above are just kinks to work out of a new business. I don’t have a problem paying a premium for a good product; however the tipping thing does kind of irritate me. I’m a good tipper, when I go to a sit down restaurant and actually get good service, but this type of set up guilts you into tipping, as you have a fear that you’ll get a less than satisfactory product if you don’t tip. Again, if you can’t provide a good pizza for $26, without adding a 10% tip, then just price the pizza at $29.
I do hope these comments are taken constructively, so as to improve your business. I’d like to try it again and hope for better results.
Added comment after owner’s response - The order was under last name Dreiling; while your offer is generous, it’s not necessary or required. We like to support local businesses and we want you to succeed. We will come back again but we do think it’s important to give feedback when there are issues, as you can’t fix something you’re not aware of. Best of luck and we look forward to...
Read moreI am incredibly disappointed with the pizza and service I received. 😟 To begin with, the pizza was severely overcooked, resulting in a dry texture that masked the taste of the sauce, and the cheese was so hardened that it felt like biting into cardboard. It was truly awful - no taste at all. The prices were exorbitant, and despite my decision to splurge and travel 45 minutes each way to try it, the quality did not justify the cost. The service was equally disappointing, with six employees present but inefficiently handling orders. I waited in line for 13 minutes while an employee idly chatted on the phone. During this time, I observed numerous flies 🪰 hovering around the to-go slices, indicating poor sanitation practices. 🤢 The staff's disorganization was evident as they resorted to opening all the pizza boxes to identify orders, and the overall cleanliness of the store left much to be desired. Furthermore, I had a coupon for a complimentary large bottle of ranch dressing, which I never received. Instead, the employee disregarded my request twice and later charged me over $2.00 for a minuscule plastic container containing only a tablespoon of ranch. Yes, I measured it when I got home! The blatant price gouging was shocking and unacceptable. In conclusion, I strongly advise against patronizing this establishment. It is not worth your...
Read moreWe ordered two large cheese pizzas and a Nutella dessert pizza from Pizza Tascio, and it hit the spot for our whole family of seven. This is a solid New York-style pie—thin crust with large foldable slices. The texture was just right—not floppy, but not crispy either. It had a firm structure with a good chew, a soft interior, and a semi-crispy outer crust.
The sauce had a nice tang without being overpowering, and the cheese had good flavor. It wasn’t overly greasy, and it wasn’t the stretchy kind—it pulled apart easily and worked well with the whole pie. Everything was baked evenly with no soggy spots or burnt edges—just a clean, consistent pizza from end to end.
The Nutella pizza was simple: just Nutella on regular pizza crust. Thin, no frills. The kids loved it. I didn’t try it, but judging by how fast it disappeared, it did its job.
Delivery was quick—about 45 minutes. The driver even texted me when he was on the way, which I appreciated. It came with their homemade ranch, which was a nice surprise and really good with the crust.
All in, it cost about $78 before the tip. Not cheap, but it fed all of us and felt worth it. No hype, just good pizza. I’d definitely order again. If you’re in KC and craving real NYC-style pizza, Tascio’s is a...
