Callsign Brewing is one of the coolest bars and places to hang out in the KC area. The bartenders and staff are always beyond amazing. It is also Veteran-Owned and they do so much for the local Veteran community, and never seek credit for any of their generosity (but I’m going to give it anyway). Steve, the owner, served over 20 years in our armed forces and now he continues to serve Veterans. He and his staff have forged great relationships with numerous nonprofits in the area that support our Vets in a variety of ways. They are very involved in the community and have big hearts. And to top it all off, they have an amazing selection of great beer and a really great atmosphere to enjoy it in. Read moreEnjoyed my first experience here! First impression is a laid back somewhat dive bar vibe that definitely supports veterans and first responders. I even see on their website that they welcome ways to collaborate to honor military, veterans, and first responders.
I went with a couple of lighter beers—the Freedom Lager and the Screaming Eagle Cream Ale—that I found to be as easily drinkable as say a Miller Lite (similar texture) but with great unique flavor. I rated them both highly and would recommend.

Read moreI really enjoyed this place... they've done an excellent job incorporating a military theme in a tasteful and respectful way. The beer names and memorabilia are on-point but I also appreciated the decor... you can nerd out on some obscure, yet important, military trivia if you want.
