This is my 2nd time patronizing this establishment, and the food wasn't bad but I can't say the same thing about the customer service. My experience was exactly the same as the last time I came. I don't play the race card at all and I can honestly say that I experienced discrimination on both of my visits. To be specific, the vast majority of staff at the restaurant are white and they cater more to white customers but not minorities. I literally had to walk up and pick up my order while I watched their staff bring the orders to the other customers without hesitation. There wasn't many minorities there in the first place. Now about the food, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak both times, and both times it was average at least. The bread was fresh as well as the other ingredients, but the ribeye itself lacked flavor bigtime! This is definitely my last time coming to this restaurant.
Update: The owner immediately responded to my post in defense, which further confirms my point about this place. Yes, I had a conversation with him about a possible donation (1 slice of 🍕 ) which I didn't take personal and I didn't even ask him personally because he wasn't around initially. Originally, I politely spoke with the front manager who was extremely cut and dry about any donations or incentives for food reviews. There was absolutely no argument there and after speaking with the manager I took my seat and continued to wait for the food that I already ordered before even inquiring about any donations. I spent approximately $20 for my order and if you read through some other reviews you'll find similar reviews to mine. About 2 mins after speaking with the manager I made eye contact with the owner who peeked out the kitchen door from afar to see who I was then he came out to speak with me about 4 mins later 🤔. As soon as the owner introduced himself with an arrogant demeanor he went on to say that his restaurant has been featured on the Food Network basically implying they only deal with the BIG FISH and don't deal with the little guys or local food reviewers thats promoting his business for free; but they'll definitely take the little people or food reviewers money. He even asked me for my credentials, which I provided to him as a kind gesture even though he blatantly explained that he will not be supporting my food blog or anyone else's. You...
Read moreFirst time going, and I had a sample of almost everything on the menu. I was unaware until I was leaving that they were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
The sin city pizza is my favorite. It's a square pizza that yields 8 slices, I believe. I love the thick, doughy crust. All the dough is made in-house.
We ordered the garlic cheese bread and it was very good. It is heavy on the garlic, which I am ok with, but it can be overpowering. I was only able to eat a couple of pieces before the garlic became too much.
The chicken fingers... OMG. Amazing. They are not processed tenders. You can see they are hand cut and breaded from chicken breasts. They have a lot of dipping sauces, so it will take a while to try them all. I personally loved the pineapple Buffalo.
I'm not much of a beef eater, so I got a chicken cheesesteak. It was amazing. I went and tried POPS cheesesteaks not long ago, and I usually get a chicken philly from jersey mikes, but to me, these are not even in the same category. It was so delicious.
I ordered the mozzarella sticks, and personally, I did not care for them. They are also hand made in house. The breading on them seemed off to me. I would say almost too thick for my liking. But hey, I don't expect to love everything they have.
They also sell pizza by the slice for $4-$5. They have wings (did not try), and they have a lot of loaded fries. You can get 2 liters or fountain drinks here consisting of Coca-Cola products.
The staff was super accommodating and wanted to make sure we enjoyed everything. You can watch them make most everything behind the counter. They are very helpful and will answer any questions you have.
When we went, they were a little slow, but I am told that Friday nights are the busiest. They do have tables to sit inside, there is a patio area for outside seating (not sure if it is covered or not), a couple of arcade games, and a few TVs that...
Read moreThe people who man the counter here are big on providing good customer service.
The pizza cooks are a different story.
Ordered a half supreme/half cheesesteak and a large salad 23AUG. The digital receipt and at least one of the systems in the store outputs it as Cheese (which can cause confusion in the kitchen). Website says the order will be ready in 40 minutes.
My mom goes to the store to pick up the order. The lady at the counter doesn't have a pizza in the warmer--the salad is done, though. She asks if it was half supreme/half cheese; mom contacts me to confirm the order--cheesesteak. She looks for the pizza. It never got made. She asks the cook and he gives her grief about it. The lady lets my mom know it'll be another 15 minutes and offers her a drink.
A pizza gets cooked. Cook boxes it, puts it on the counter without saying anything, and there's no marking or receipt. A different lady comes to the counter and sees my mom still sitting there. She asks if she got our pizza--no--and asks the cook. He gaslights her by claiming he let everyone know it was done. She asks my mom to come over. Mom tells her he didn't say anything.
This isn't the first time I've had an order not get made there; it's about every other trip. It's one thing if they're slammed and in the weeds. Stuff gets lost. I get that.
It's something else entirely if the cook's got beef and taking it out on staff and customers. A 50/50 chance of an order not being cooked doesn't make this location a first choice despite how...
