Restaurant Review: A Hidden Gem of Haitian Cuisine in North Lauderdale I often find myself in search of delightful culinary experiences, and my recent visit to a charming restaurant in North Lauderdale was nothing short of a revelation. With Thanksgiving in the air and my daughter back home, we were on a mission for a comforting meal. A craving for Haitian black rice led us to this vibrant eatery, which we stumbled upon thanks to a quick Google search. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped by a lively Caribbean ambiance that immediately lifted our spirits. The cheerful music created an inviting atmosphere, setting the perfect backdrop for our culinary adventure. Our server, a superhero in his own right, greeted us with a warm smile that made us feel at home. Being unfamiliar with Haitian cuisine, we decided to embrace the experience and ordered the griot and chicken meals. The black rice, a highlight of our meal, was bursting with flavor and served as a delightful accompaniment to our dishes. The chicken, a generous serving that included breast, thigh, and leg, was tender and succulent, drizzled with a sauce that was nothing short of spectacular. It elevated the dish to a new level, showcasing the rich and diverse flavors of Haitian cooking. Adding to the feast were unique sides that included a unique mac and cheese that surprised and delighted us, along with perfectly ripe plantains that provided a sweet contrast to the savory main dishes. Each bite was a testament to the passion and skill that went into preparing our meals. Our experience at this restaurant was exceptional in every sense. We order to-go, but the The food was delicious, the atmosphere vibrant, and the service top-notch. I wholeheartedly give this establishment five stars across the board. If you're in North Lauderdale and craving authentic Haitian cuisine, don't miss the chance to visit this gem. You’ll leave with a full belly and a happy heart. We will be back!!

1st Timer! I googled best Haitian food near me after a tiresome day at work. I was excited bc I never been there. I saw one price. I called the restaurant and ordered. I didn’t know I had to specify small or large. The food came out and looked fabulous! However there was an exchange between the guy and I that I was disappointed with. Read more about our discussion below from a social media post …. I ordered from a restaraunt and I saw one price listed. No size was specified. I still paid. However I did not like that I was told that “You should know what you’re ordering”. Then I inquired about another menu item and I was told oh well “that’s cheaper” just because I questioned being automatically charged for a large. I don’t think that was handled well. Food was decent. P.S. Wow! Still came on my review to be RUDE! I can read and comprehend very well. Just say you don’t want business from us. That is what it seems like. I will stick to places where RESPECT is being served on the table as well. How disgusting and you’re a man at that. Going back and forth like the b!+€# that you are.

I give 100%honest reviews. I ordered a simple griot off of Uber eats, I browsed online and looked at the reviews. When I ordered my food I added a side of picklz and sauce because I was not sure if it came with the plate. When I opened the plate I was so shocked at how much food they gave! First of all that macaroni salad is too good! The sauce was nice, it turned out perfect that I mistakenly ordered two! The picklz were really good aswell could use a little more juice, not much spice to me (I love ALOT of spice & hot sauces) but there was a nice little spice to it! The griot was very nice, seasoned not too much crispy but still tender, I just did not care for those fat pieces at aaall and lastly why I also gave a 4 the purple thing I believe is potato salad I did not care for it maybe if the potatoes were softer I would’ve ate it but overall very decent food you can tell this is a nice Haitian restaurant.

Here goes another Haitian restaurant with terrible customer service.

This is my third time dealing with this place, and it will definitely be my last. The first time I ordered a large catering order for the school nearby a few months ago, but after today, I will not use this business for myself nor recommend them for catering again.

I called and clearly ordered: “Pate Kodè, no chicken, BUT put EVERYTHING else in it.” The man said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I got there in exactly 20 minutes, and they told me to wait 7 more minutes. Fine. I leave and come back after 7 minutes—still not ready. By now it’s been around 30 minutes total. I expressed my frustration, and the lady at the front (who, by the way, I greeted twice when I first walked in and she completely ignored me) says:

“Give it to her like that. If it’s not cooked all the way, she can’t complain.”

EXCUSE ME?! So your solution is to hand me half-done food so I “can’t complain”?

I finally get my food, and guess what? No chicken—which I asked for—BUT also NO aranso/fish. I called back and the man tells me, “Well, you said no chicken so we didn’t put chicken OR aranso.” Make it make sense. Since when does “no chicken” mean remove ALL protein? He argued back and forth about what “no” means, then ends the call with “Next time, we got you.”

Why not just make it right NOW? Why tell me “next time” when this time is already wrong?

To top it off, while I was there, an Uber Eats driver had been waiting a long time. He politely said, “If the customer cancels, that won’t be good for you guys.” The same rude lady responds with:

“It won’t be good for YOU. We pay Uber. You’ll be the one losing.”

Then she proceeded to argue with him about who would “lose” if the order got canceled. As a business owner myself, I cannot understand why someone representing a business would argue with an Uber driver and speak like that to paying customers. That lady needs to be working in the back . She should not be dealing with customers.

This is my last time here. And I will make sure when catering events come up again, we take our...

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!! I just had the absolute worst experience with the staff at this restaurant. When I walked in there was no one in sight to greet me. No one at the register or behind the counter to take my order. Luckily my order was placed online. I waited a good minute for someone from the back to come to the front. It took a customer seating in the restaurant to walk to the back to grab the attention of staff for anyone to come up. Once they came to the front I showed my order to the lady and she said she would check on it for me. All of a sudden some guy comes from the back very aggressive with an iPad telling me my order isn’t even started. When I placed the order it said it would be ready by a certain time which had came and went so how was my order not even started?? Then he proceeded to get rude by pointing to his tablet saying it says 24 minutes. So they clearly changed the time my order would be ready on their end but made it seem like I came in too early. He almost seemed annoyed that I was there. Once we received the notification that our food was actually ready I walked back inside and I see the guy bagging what I assumed was my food. Instead of him showing professionalism and good customer service he placed the food on the counter turned around and walked away. No thank you for your business or sorry about the time mix up or nothing just completely rude and nasty. ON TOP OF THAT the food wasn’t even good. I’ve had much better. I will...
