I stopped by this location on 12/22/24 and was excited to try out a new restaurant in the local area, as I am enthusiastic about supporting local businesses, but this is one business I will not be returning to.
I was elated to see such high ratings of 4.8 and was eager to try out a new location, as my family and I were looking for something new to satisfy our craving and Snapper’s happed to be the option we chose
We placed an order for food totaling 104.79 and with the service provided, you would have thought we begged them for our offerings. We placed an order via the drive thru. Placing the order was met with ease, but the demeanor of this four-eyed order taker was less than pleasant. To be the face of a location and have the attitude she possessed was very off putting. This young lady was better fit for behind the scenes preparing orders than being a front end. She was very impatient and short.
I ensured to extend pleasantries and thank you’s and none were reciprocated. I was attempting to ask her if my order was complete and she closed the window and rolled her beady eyes. The nerve!!
I was trying to ask her further questions and beeped my horn, and she tried to act like she didn’t hear my loud horn beeping. Her ignore game was strong!!
Upon receiving my order, the food was not at all worth the money I spent. I ordered a snapper dinner (soggy) with fries, the family dinners DO NOT COME WITH BREAD🍞, conch (the conch was tough) and fried chicken 3 pc (overly seasoned and fried) with that nasty rice and black beans that went straight into my garbage, with the last 2 pieces of that overly seasoned chicken going to the neighborhood animals, along with a small order of clams and 2 flop drinks. The only praise and why they received a 2 is for the clams and the flop drinks. Other than that, everything else ordered is trash and had met the trash, resulting in a waste of my money.
You can best believe this will be the first and last time I will ever grace them with my presence and money!!

So, I’ve been a regular at the Hooks on McNab for a while, and when Snappers opened up, I was hyped because I just knew they'd have to come with their "A" game since Hooks is right down the street. What a disappointment! I should've known better when we pulled up and the place was empty at 8 something at night. Not a soul in sight. Nobody in the drive-thru line-not one car. There's always a line at Hooks that time of night, and I mean ALWAYS!
So, I got the conch and shrimp dinner, swapped fries for okra, added a 6-piece wing, and they hit me with a $36.29 tab. Almost had me like, 'Excuse me, WHAT?’ Just last week, I got the same meal at Hooks for $5 less and way more food—enough for me and my man to share and still have leftovers the next day. Not to mention that at Hooks, they even throw in two pieces of bread and a soda with that combo. Now that’s a meal!
When they handed us our bag of food at Snappers, it was light. I mean, featherweight light. I had to double-check and make sure that they gave use all the food in the order. When you grab a bag from Hooks, you’re grabbing with two hands, one at the top and one at the bottom for support. My Snappers bag felt like I was holding a kids' meal for a toddler.
I must admit, the place was clean, and the food was fresh, but the flavor? Let’s just say Hooks has this one in the bag. Their shrimp are big and juicy, the conch’s thick and hearty, and every bite hits just right. Snappers? Tiny shrimp, skinny and chewy conch strips, and the flavor is just…meh.
Bottom line: save yourself the disappointment and go to the Hooks on McNab. The service is about the same, but you have to set realistic expectations for food service in North Lauderdale. This city is is not known for its stellar...
Read moreFirst. I never actually got to try the food I lost my appetite after feeling rushed.
My first visit to this Snappers Fish and Chicken location serving Tamarac/Lauderhill area was incredibly disappointing, and I will not be returning. From the moment I pulled up to the drive-thru, I was met with an unnecessary rush that set a negative tone for the entire experience. Despite it being my first time at this restaurant and the drive-thru being completely empty, I was asked for my order twice within seconds of arriving, even after I requested a moment to look at the menu. It's baffling why a new establishment would rush a new customer, especially when there's no line. This immediately made me feel unwelcome and pressured. After about 40 seconds, the voice on the microphone returned, again demanding my order.
Feeling rushed, I opted for a simple four-piece and fries, hoping to minimize any further delay. However, the wait continued at the pick-up window. I was left waiting for approximately four minutes without any acknowledgment from the staff. This lack of communication after being rushed to order was incredibly frustrating.
Frankly, l'd rather drive to a "ghetto" Snappers location than deal with this "bougie" new establishment. The entire experience was rude and unwelcoming. I've had consistently positive experiences at Hooks, where even when I was rude on my first visit, they remained courteous. This Snappers location, on the other hand, was rude to me from the get-go. I will never recommend this...
