Ceci's Chicken & Waffles — Restaurant in North Little Rock

I don't like to leave one star reviews but for this I will make an exception. Lobby closed at 5 (but you could still come in and order?) so had to get it to go but wasn't informed until after we had ordered. Food took over 45 minutes to receive and was missing two meals. Had to wait another 25 minutes for them to make what was missing from it. So now the first order is cold and soggy. And this is for food that was relatively expensive. Total of an hour and 10 minutes just to get food to take home and I live in another town. By the time we got to eat, everything was cold and soggy.

The place was very dirty with oily floors and dirty tables and the girl who took our order also had a pretty bad attitude. Was very disappointed. I don't like when people have a bad experience and "everything" was awful but that was actually the case here. The only good thing I can say is the security guard on duty was very friendly! Took forever to get my order. Everyone with me had finished with their meal when I got my salmon dinner - had to get it to go. I was very disappointed to say the least. The fish was thin and burnt; the owner said they serve it blackened(the menu never mentioned blackened) and that she had served 15 of the salmon that day. However, she did give me a refund, although I did not request one. She told me to keep the food as well and she told my sister, she guaranteed I would eat it later - she was wrong. However, I did give it to a homeless man that said he would eat the burnt fish. The side of black eyed peas were good and the cabbage was okay. If there is a next time I will just try the Chicken...

The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. I ordered the Strawberry Shortage Pancakes with chicken, along with the gizzards and mac & cheese. If you’re a fan of tender gizzards, this is definitely your spot. Unlike most places that serve tough, straight from the bag gizzards, they actually tenderize them here, making them flavorful and easy to chew.

The fried chicken was phenomenal, crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The waffles were good with a touch of sweetness. While waiting for my food, the owner chatted with me and made me feel right at home. She even invited me back for Soul Food Sunday.
