My husband and I ate here yesterday and the cashier was super sweet but starting off to the utensils they have them in a cup by the drink fountain for anyone to grab that’s very unsanitary. I saw customers coughing all over them And saw a server hand a customer those same utensils after me explaining they were poorly cleaned and I literally saw the people in front of my cough all over them. There was no room so we had to sit at the bar we had open beer can from previous customers in front us and and politely asked the lady at the bar to remove them she ignored our request there was dirty napkins all in our area we asked for some paper towels to pick them up she just looked at us and walked off. So we had to search some down. Then our food arrives I had a pull pork sandwich which was absolutely COLD and flavorless they brought me chip when I ordered fries so they fixed it and told me to keep the chips they were very stale. The fries were seasoned and I wasn’t made aware of that because it’s not even listed on the menu I asked if the could bring me unseasoned fries because I didn’t like the seasoning I asked 3 different servers each said they would and I didn’t. So I them request for ketchup which I NEVER GOT. My husband ordered the BBQ player and his food was cold as well the only thing that was hot (temp wise) was the smoke sausage. I asked for plastic utensils and was told they didn’t have any. So my husband didn’t eat the sides because he had no clean sanitary utensils to use. The food wasn’t seasoned I had to drown it in BBQ sauce. I even asked for a wet napkin to wipe the bottle off because it was sticky with bbq sauce all over it we never got that either. Half of our food we didn’t eat and so that was money wasted. And not to mention to see one of the male servers messing with his nose and then grab a order to take to a table without washing his hands! I asked for a manger and was told they’d get one and we sat for several mins waiting for one to the point we just left. needless to say I highly upset to waste...
Read moreSo our trip to Count Porkula was not planned and we were traveling across the state heading back to Colorado. We stopped, wanting to have some bbq. I ordered the Brisket, Pulled Pork, and the Jalapeno Sausage w/ Mac and cheese, corn pudding and potato salad. The family had the Almost Famous Nachos w/ Brisket, and a Brisket plate W/ Baked Beans.
I am a weekend BBQ'er Smoking meats as a hobby for friends and family.... So I can and will judge bbq pretty hard based on my taste and flavor profiles! I smoke Brisket regularly, make my on smoked sausage and Jalapeño and cheddar sausage, and smoked shoulder / pulled pork.
I must say, we were all very pleased with our meals. I tried the Brisket first, which is always on the top of my list to try everywhere. It was my by far best part of the meal!!! The Brisket was very moist and tender!!! I prefer my brisket more off the point vs the flat (leaner) and this had the right amount of fat!!! It had just the right amount of smoke, not overpowering! I did add a pinch of salt to it, but that's my preference. I tried it with and without. It was very good! My daughter went through the Nachos so quick, I just barely got one to try! The pulled pork was tender and moist as well. My daughter tried the Jalapeno and cheddar sausage with me and she told me mine that I make was better, buttering me up 🤣! The sausage was pretty good!!!
The sides were fair, but not where I focused my energy! Out of all the sides, the corn pudding was my favorite! We also tried their banana pudding, which was good as well!
We took our food to-go and continued our trip... as we drove further away....we kept saying how we wished we would've grabbed some more Brisket by the pound to-go for later!
I highly...
Read moreI was looking forward to this place based on reviews. First, when you walk in, you have no idea what the set up is, where to sit, do you order first? We chose full service and sat by the bar. We were there at 5:30 today, a Friday. The waitress/bartender finally came by after passing us several times, and asked for our drink order. I ordered water, and when it came it had a yellow tint. When I mentioned it she acted perturbed stating that it came from the bar - I had to ask for clear water, and even then she acted gruff. The ribs pictured on the menu looked delicious! So, I ordered the ribs with beans and was willing to pay the extra $4.00 charge for fries, and ordered beans for the other side. The meal came, no fries - we were told they'd be out soon. They weren't. Then, after looking at the serving size I said "no thank you", because it was ridiculously a small serving. The ribs were dry and the meat was hard in some places. The waitress asked us once how we were - but didn't bother to wait for the answer. The person that I was with had an empty drink - we had to flag her down to get them something to drink. I understand that stellar service isn't always guaranteed, but she just didn't care and the food wasn't worth the price, so this was our first and last time that we will be eating at Count...
