Management without integrity!
My wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary here on June 30th, 2024. Her custom made diamond wedding ring unknowingly slipped off and fell to the floor. We found out after getting home and called in. A waitress found it and told us it would be put in the safe overnight.
The next morning we went to retrieve it and no one there knew anything and the ring could not be found. Turned out no one could get into the safe that night so the waitress put it by the safe, out in the open. Anyone, including the cleanup crew, could have taken it. Cypress Social was responsible for losing this very valuable ring so they filed a police report.
Final Update 9/4/2025 - No contact of any kind, not even an apology. I was only going to litigate, but God wanted to wait. Now, owners and management, we forgive you for your cowardice and irresponsibility in the way you handled us as Senior Citizens. We live here. Not ever returning to your restaurant and telling everyone we can about this may not affect you much. But hear this. We now turn you over to the most high, sovereign Lord, Jesus Christ. Our loss and your response cry out to Him daily now. You have left us no choice. May He forgive you and show Mercy.
Previous Updates: ————————————————————- It is now coming up on 3 months later and the management has refused to reimburse us for the value of this ring. We hope we don’t have to litigate. It’s very sad that they would treat senior citizens this way. BEWARE of your valuables lost and found in Cypress Social!!
UPDATE: 11/5/24 - Still no response from the owners.
UPDATE: 01/08/25 - Just saw GM response of attempts to contact me by phone. I have no missed calls logged or voicemail messages from anyone there. Will email to address given.
UPDATE: 2/15/25 - Sent ring appraisal to GM as requested, showing the jewelers $10,000 appraisal from 2011 after being upgraded. Followed up with 2 emails. No response since 1/22/25. Being ghosted again. Meantime, my wife has NO wedding ring! 8 months now.
UPDATE: 3/6/25 - After 2 more attempts to reach the GM by email as requested, I have continued to be ignored. It is now going on 9 months since our ring was stolen from Cypress Social Restaurant. One MUST ask themselves - is this a restaurant you really want to give your business to? My wife and I have no other choice left now but to litigate and incur more cost just to try and get this business to do what they should have done - the right thing!
Update: 6/2/25 - unresolved and still ghosted, going...
Read moreI'll preface this by saying we have always loved Cypress Social and the space and all of our previous experiences, I actually should have written a review about those instances and it would've been 5 stars all around
I called a week ago to make this reservation and they asked about the occasion, I stated it was going to be our baby's first birthday. Got the confirmation, everything was good. It got cold the last couple of days and our requested seating was outside so I called today to ask about indoor seating and if they happened to have heat lamps outside, the person said they did have the lamps and they'd be on, so I kept our reservation
We get there on time, get seated. Notice there are no heat lamps except for one on the other end of the area for outdoor seating (it was cold and clearly I didn't prepare for that since I was advised it would be on) and yes she knew where we were going to be seated because she had stated that where it was would be quiet
Fast forward to the server we got, we had never had him before. I will give credit that about 20 minutes before we left, he was friendly and helpful). I asked him which of 2 dishes he would recommend. We've dined with them before and his response was very condescending. He said those are not things he would order off of the menu and if he was the state fair and I wanted the best experience of the state fair he would want me to get on the best rides and those items were the teacups and yes everyone is fine with the teacups but just not it. My husband and I were so confused and just turned to each other. Then I asked about another dish and he said it fell into the same category. I could tell he was annoyed so at that point I just ordered whichever and after he got our orders I told my husband right away I didn't want to order the desserts we had planned to there for our son's birthday dinner because it was not an enjoyable experience.
And the food as much as he rushed us to take our orders, came out after 40 minutes and he actually came out twice to apologize
Unfortunately, we will not be going back, because when you don't get someone excited about the food served on the menu, regardless if you would eat it or not, as I was clearly trying to decide between the 2.. maybe just don't yuck...
Read moreI came here for dinner two nights in a row on 2/19 and 2/20. For my first visit, I showed up alone without a reservation around 6:00, and I was warmly welcomed and immediately seated. I had the Flyway Parakeet beer, which is outstanding. For my entree, I got the pan seared salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked on a bed of delicious gnocchi and vegetables with a sweet and savory sauce throughout. It was a stunning meal. And for dessert, I got the coffee-toffee chocolate tres leches cake. It was the best dessert I have ever had at a restaurant. Words cannot accurately describe how the balance of the textures of the crunchy toffee and the soft moist cake soaked in coffee impact your tastebuds as you mix them with the buttercream and drizzles while the hints of salt here and there draw out the sweetness of the dish without it being overpoweringly sweet. This dessert is a masterpiece. For my next visit, I came with a large group of 12 people I believe. We had reservations for 5:30, and we were immediately seated. We had lots of appetizers that I didn’t get photos of because they were immediately devoured. But I got to try the cornbread, which was devine, the fried green tomatoes, which were delicious, a couple of oysters, which paired wonderfully with the horseradish, an oyster bienville, which was a creamy cheesy wonderland, a fried frog leg, which was tender and juicy and battered perfectly, and the mom’s and breaded okra, which was also cooked well and masterfully battered. Every appetizer was fantastic and diverse in its flavor profile! Then for my entree, I got the Duroc pork chop. It was cooked to the temp I ordered, juicy and tender, and paired nicely with the sweet bacon marmalade. Served on top of beautiful creamy grits and excellently seasoned green beans, this meal was an absolute winner. And of course, I had to have the tres leches cake again! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visits here, and had...
