We've have ate at this Cracker Barrel several times in the past. It was always very good. This time we were expecting the same. It was totally the opposite. My husband's order was wrong. He always eats his bacon crisp, this time it was barely warm and very chewy. He ordered toast instead of biscuits and gravy with his breakfast order, got the biscuits and gravy instead and had to mention it and wait on toast which was a little burnt. We usually order peach cobbler for dessert. When we got it, it was no where near what the peach cobbler you get at a Cracker Barrel that we've ever ate at, and we eat at many. It had some kind of hard cookie piece on each side with canned peaches and one tiny bit of so called vanilla ice cream. We took one bite and couldn't take another. It was awful. Dining rooms were dirty, many tables not cleaned off since we got there til the time we left. There were at least 10 that we could see. When leaving went to ladies restroom. Oh my! It was so nasty and dirty. All the stalls haven't been flushed, and the only one that had that I could use had a hair on the seat. I couldn't believe it. Don't know if under new management or what, but it certainly isn't up to par. Oh, and by the way my husband originally had ordered chicken and dumplings, but it was about 20 minutes til waitress came out and said they didn't have any chicken for the dumplings. So he ordered a breakfast entree. It took a good while for us to get our meal. There were only 2 other tables with one customer and the other with only 2. They had to wait a good while also. They might have been shorthanded, but there's no excuse for the shape everything was in and the food being that bad. The veggies and chicken strips I got were ok and my biscuits and the water was good. On a positive note we weren't charged for the cobblers. Oh and they could put knives and spoons in the paper wrap with the fork. Only a fork was in wrapper. All in all was a very poor experience. I understand it's only my opinion and others may think differently, but it's a not go back for us to this one. Cracker Barrel restaurants are very good, but this one needs some much needed changes...
Read moreI went Saturday May 10th, when we got there We had to wait and wait for our biscuits and cornbread…normally it doesnt take that long, and it normally, but when we got it we only got the biscuits, we asked about the cornbread and they said they would bring it right out…never did, i ordered a sweet tea but got a unsweetened tea…it was about 15min until our server came by again…we had to ask for silverware…the food we ordered took 35-40min+ to get to us when it did come out then they told my dad “we are out of the meatloaf…what would you like instead” my dad ordered pancakes as it was a quick thing to cook and he was hungry… i bit into my food my loaded mashed potatoes was cold and clumpy in most spots and in others luke warm, my steak was luke warm…my brothers hashbrown casserole was cold, but considering how long it took for the food to get out and how little we saw Our server in our area I just ate it…even tho flavor wise on the steak it was decent but with the temperature of the food…it tasted bad but I ate it as I was already gone a few days without eating g due to me being sick and that was the first full meal i could keep down and stomach eating…after a while they brought out a meatloaf to my dad and said. “They just cooked this” well… the outside was burnt and the insides were not cooked fully…and my dad had to cancel on the pancakes, his and my brothers beans were bland (normally they have alot of flavor), never once did our server come see how the food is or check on us…only came and refilled our drinks once…the area felt neglected i didnt see our waiter check on anyone elses table either…
Now normally the food, service, etc..,i give 5 stars on all Categories but this time…it was bad.
Yes I will return as I have never had a bad experience except...
Read moreWe are "original" CB Customers having eaten at the very first time from it's opening in 1969 at the Hwy 109 Exit on I-40 West of Lebanin, TN. That Original Store is long gone. We have been raving fans of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store ever since ... and 56 years of marriage.
The North Little Rock, Arkansas CB is our nearest CB to home and the one we eat in the most. Almost always for breakfast as we did today following a medical procedure.
Keylie was our Server and she did not disappoint. The Manger sat us. Our usual Breakfast was ordered and came reasonabley quick considering the Dinning Room was 80% filled.
My only complaint was the first cup of coffee was not HOT but Kaylie promptly took care of that issue. The other one, neither she nor the Manger can "fix" as it is a Corporate issue I have written directly to CEO, Julie Masino about without respose. She took the "Uncle Herschel" Breakfast off the menue! What a slap to Founder Dan Evin's real life Uncle! (Yes, we knew Dan back in the day). What a great Ambassador Uncle Hershel was for the Brand. So sad CB thought they had to modernize when from what I have seen traveling all of the USA where CB exits (my Brother in Bremerton, WA is still waiting for one) it is my age group down to 50 and up to 90+ that still loves the original menu and great Country Ham for breakfast. (Yes, I know, you can order it with any selection). The Combination, which I had today, 2 eggs over easy, Country Ham, Biscuits and Gravey, REAL hashborwns and grits simply cannot be beat.
Oh, and the Cook did over-COOK the ham this morning. It was...
